does it make difference to use liquid metal. Maube -1 or -2c. Not sure Be careful when putting liquid metal on the GPU. If it causes any damage to the GPU die, that will void your warranty. It is not recommended to put liquid metal on GPU.

Replaced thermalpaste and long pad from top. Got around -3c better temps. but cooler fans broke so gonna replace them later when new arrive Opening gpu will void your warranty. There is also always possibility that something goes wrong so be careful

This is the exact card I have. Its been out of warranty for over 2 years so I might as well give this a try. Recently on virtually every game except Minecraft my fans are kicking up to 4000+ rpm after a few minutes and I discovered my hotspot temp is nearly 110 C! Hopefully this is the fix.

@@bennyhops7230 I haven't done it yet, been super busy with work but I hope to get it done this weekend hopefully. I got some thermal pads from Newegg that arrived a couple weeks ago and I'll be using my leftover MX-4 thermal paste. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

i measured the pad thickness and i do not believe the 4mm are correct. They seem to be 3mm.

Im getting dodgy behaviour just sat on desktop on same card at idle, memory temps at 60°c at idle. Aretfacting in games when they dont crash before hand. Had it since brand new but bout ready to give up on it but figure might be just thermal paste needs replacing on the memory side of things. Might be cheap fix rather than dropping another £1000 on a gpu. Its still a good card. For another year or two id say. You think 60°c on idle on mems the issue? The gpu temps outside of nemory at idle are in 40s. Which parts the memory specifically is my question?
@@Miikakaari thanks, I appreciate it. Been looking around at some other people's information on temps of these cards and I'm now not so sure there's anything to my memory over heating theory. Seems like memory being 20°c above GPU temps is fairly normal. Maybe something more terminal
You should try phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer, performs works better than traditional pastes and there is no pump-out effect. Instead of thermopads, I advise you to apply thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro. It is also a good idea to do undervolting.

Samsung evo 870 is said to be best option for ps4 pro. Faster ones shouldnt make any difference

@@kristofferwalfridsson1867 Took it apart. applied thermal paste, added another case fan and got the hot spot down to about 90-95 c ... You need air flowing over the top of the back plate.....

Yes they should be. Dont remember exact thickness for backplate but normallu there are 3mm pads
Or you can just buy an external hd cady adapter, install original ps hard drive into that and skip the first half of this and just reinstall straight from your old drive via usb.
I've done all that but my ps4 pro says it can't find the file.
