Long story how this came to me. Someone's neighbour gave it someone who gave it their friend who gave it me in 2004... not sure exact dates or who or why, but enjoy a vintage car trip including down Bawtry Road filmed from an adorable vintage car! Austin's and Morris' abound!

just playing with a new camera and a song that has obsessed me lately
Excellent video, was only able to place where I was once he got to Brecks roundabout and went back up Bawtry Road. It's a whole different world back then..
Many thanks for posting this. I lived in wickersley in the 1970s
The bit that gets me is the row of poplar trees near to where Morrison s at Bramley is now. During the 70's we travelled to Filey a lot and when returning home, I could always tell we were near on the M18 because I could see those poplar trees. When I saw then again on this film, my heart skipped a beat.
At 14:25, one can glimpse the cameraman in his yellow car.
Nice one
Not Rotherham, close but no cigar
What else did the photographer get for Christmas? Went from Bramley to Wickersley to the Brecks and back several times, with a sortie down Morthen Road. The title is Driving in Rotherham - he never got there. Very disappointing although we did see Wickersley School several times where my wife went and the Methodist church where we were married back in 1972. I lived at Hellaby, just over the M18.
yep I was willing him straight on at the M18 roundabout wanting to see Hellaby.I grew up there, 1967-1986.
Mark H I lived there from 1946 until I joined the army in '64.
I like how the driver had the hindsight not to venture into Maltby, knowing full well it would remain the same in the future.
LMFAO
really enjoyed watching this something thats bugging me tho the masons arms isnt on it and that was built in 1930?
Think it was built waaaay before that tbh, its on a map from 1901. I think you can see it around 14:00 - 15:30? The road is completely different and there's no roundabout just a crossroads down to morthern etc
At the time this was filmed the Masons stood further back from the road. At 7:03 there is a lady in white standing next to the Masons pub sign. It was at about this time that I bought my first pint and it was in the Masons, the barman said you can have this one but don't come back for another. I was 15.
Surprised to see the modern style of road signs. These designs weren't introduced until 1965 and took a few years to be put into general use. The film must be around 1970, I guess.
Amazing piece of film. Spent my first 20 years in Wickersley. Thank you for posting!
Use to have a motocross track in Wickersley, went in the late 80s

they sound much better live than on records
the album version is online here somewhere, but i uploaded many other songs from this album, so maybe you might check it out?
I also hear Led Zep in this song and this does not mean it's a rip-off. No, it means that Led Zep wish they had this song written! Fabulous!
haha the singer looks like Scribe
@astiechan: Their second album, Outta Sight/Outta Mind, was produced by Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones.
