Those pigs sure look happy, at least to me..... 🤗🤗🤗🤗 I could watch them for a long time, I find them very interesting.. Good Work 😀😃😄 btim sw pa
Thx
The pigs were in hog heaven in the mud puddle they made. 🤣🤣that was the neatest raked pile of hay I think I have ever seen. I think Dakoda was having way too much fun doing that 😂
Tractor an trailer looking good 👍
Thanks!
Pigs are quite the little rascals!
😀💯📸🙏👍
Good thing "Brisket" doesn't know the meaning of his name. I actually laughed out loud. Videos are wonderful!!
hope your new help works out
I hope so too.
Enjoyed watching you work with your helpers. You all act like a family. Looking forward to the next video!
Thanks for watching!
Thx
Enjoyed video
Thanks
Aww, I feel honored. You chose my name suggestion for Renews calf. 🥰I laughed when Dakoda had to run out and get chocolate milk when he is working in a dairy. Tell him to bring some chocolate topping and he can make his own, fresh from the cow. 🤣🤣
That was a great suggestion for the name!
Thx
How many cows are you milking? Thank you for the video.
We milk 12-15 cows.
Been binging your videos this weekend. Seems your setup is similar to what I desire to do here in Wisconsin. Currently milking one cow 🤣 Do you host visitors?
We are always happy to visit and talk farming! Thanks for watching.
@@balfourfarm thanks for the reply. Maine is on the list to visit a friend from the military as well. So maybe two birds with one stone! Thanks - Mike
Thx
How long have you been farmers/ cheese makers? Top notch .
We’ve been dairy farming full time for almost 20 years. Started the making cheese 14 years ago. Thanks for watching!
looks like you found some good help
Yes. Finally!
What would you ask for a bull calf like that. They're Normandy, right.
We normally get $250 a calf when we do sell them. We’ve been keeping most of them lately. They are all normande.
Thanks. I like the breed and there don't seem to be many around.
👏💚 Welcome to Morocco
Dakota is an AWESOME farm hand!!
We agree!
Thx
Looks like you had a good year for hay. I have noticed a lot of farms had a good first cut, but then didn't get much growth after that. Here in Tasmania we have had a bad drought and people have been crying out for hay and there is none available anywhere. We are about to go into Spring so hoping for some rain to get the grass sprouting to ease the problem. The new calf is a cutie. I looked up Irish names and saw Newla, meaning white shouldered. 🥰 Then I looked And she has white shoulders. lol hope your smoker comes soon. It will add a whole new line to your cheeses. 🥰
It has been a tough year to get the hay in. It’s been raining nonstop! I love the name!!
Great video as always. Good luck with your new equipment.
Thanks!
😀Thank You for sharing that new life birth with us. I believe that is the best part of farming , letting us see the actions of a new mother, fantastic nature at work......... big tim sw pa
You could name her muddy, like muddy waters.
another great video
Thanks!
What breed of cows you have on your farm.
Mostly normande and a few crosses
New baler green one gone 😮 Nice heifer calf what breed is she a bit of a shorthorn in her
Normadie
Great video Doug!
Pure normande and a few crosses
Smoked Cheese? Are y'all going to be shipping your Smoked Cheese? If so, put me on y'alls list I'm buying for sure. Love y'alls channel and what you're doing.
Thanks! We will be shipping cheese
You have a lovely farm and professional setup.
Thanks!
Love your farm. I hope when mine is finished it’s as nice.
You can do it!
Man, you really live a simple and wholesome life which I would gladly live myself. Keep it up, love your videos 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
I hope you have plans for a parlor barn in the future, a flat barn is hard on your back, love your farm!!
Maybe some day!

Glad you enjoyed it
Watching from Nebraska. Great job on the video. Don't feel alone it seems like for me most job always takes more time than I plan on
Pigs looked really happy to be out in the pasture. I love their wiggly tails. 🥰🐖🐖
I enjoy everything about your channel from your compassionate animal husbandry to your good-natured attitude and low-key sense of humor. Wishing you much joy and success!
Thank you so much!
Always interesting content. Thank you.
Thx
pigs are cute at that age
What was the problem on the TYM?
Had a couple fuel sensor problems and a computer problem. They had to keep chasing problems. Would fix one thing then another code would pop up. Runs great now though!
How do you tell visually the milk is ok or not ok at the strainer? What are the things that you usually look for?
We strip the udders on all cows before milking into a cup that has a fine mesh screen. You can see any problems
100 hp would work better on the roundbaler!
More power is always better! Never heard anyone complain that there was too much power
Great video Balfor farm I agree when spending time in tractor a good seat is essential 👍
Hopefully you managed to get the hay bailed and wrapped. Amazing how much difference there is between tractors.
We did get the hay done!
Just found your channel, subscribed. Your farm setup is very impressive. Also viewed your tour of the west of Ireland, we are Irish and farming in France, with a CZcams channel also. Farming life at La Forge. Best of luck with everything. Declan & Emily
Thanks! I’m a big fan of your channel been watching for a couple years since the video you did of why you moved to France. We hope to visit France some day soon.
@@balfourfarm France is a beautiful country. You are more than welcome to call here when you visit France.
@@emilygardiner9711we visited France last summer - loved it. We were near a small village in the Dijon area. I could see myself there more some day. LOVED the heritage farming practices. N
That was a great tour. I really enjoyed it. You have a great setup. The cheese making side of the farm is amazing. You seem to get a lot of cheese from the amount of cows you milk. Loved the chicken barn also.
Everyone is always surprised by how much cheese can be made by so few cows. They do go to “work” every day though! 😁
