Imma dump all my random animatic things I do here so
The Plagues- Dream SMP Protégé AU
IM NOT DEAD GUYS- I FINALLY FINISHED IT *chucks video*
Unfortunately, this may be the last DSMP for this channel. Even before everything went to shit I just kinda lost interest after all the Las Navadas stuff went down. (Side note- We stan Shubble in this channel. I watched her wayyyyyyy before I even knew who the Nibbler even was, and my heart hurts to know that she had to go through all that awful stuff when she was such a positive source of entertainment for middle school me)
I mean I might make one last one listing/ quickly sketching all the ideas I had for animatics I wanted to do but that’ll prolly be it.
On to talking about the actual animatics now- You will not BELIEVE how many years this idea has been cooking in the dome. Literally, I think almost immediately after I finished the first AU video (The “Evil Like Me” one) I immediately started thinking of what Doomsday would look like and thought this song work sooooo well with it. I just- you guessed it- never had the time and was honestly fighting for my life against procrastination to push through finishing this cause I wanted this to be like my magnum opus. (Thats why I decided put sound effects in- cause why not be extra)
I have literally worked on this for over 2 years- from concept to finish- so you can probably tell when I picked it back up based on how much my art improved over the course of the video 💀(If you can’t tell I did the beginning last because I didn’t know how to start it and just got lazy lmao) TBhH part of the reason why it took so long was cause I felt like my art wasn’t good enough to portay what i envisioned accurately? But thankfully i think Ive improved enough now that im satisfied with how it turned out
Despite how everyone seems to look back and cringe at it now, I honestly enjoyed my DSMP era. In the beginning, it really WAS great- and a really innovated spin on the whole “roleplay SMP” that’s been done a million times since, like, 2008.
Uhhhh yeah- story’s pretty simple, it’s just Tubbo being like- “why are you doing this” to a Dream- manipulated Tommy and Tommy distracting Tubbo while Phil sets up the TNT dropper above and showing he has sooommmmeee regrets about his path. It’s a little fast paced- so sorry bout that. There was just too much I wanted to fit in. I had to cut a few concepts/ things I wanted to happen cause there was just not enough time lol
(Spoilers for if I ever do that “DSMP ideas” video- but there was supposed to be a third installment of this where the song “Nothing Left to Lose” from Tangled the Series would be used as Tubbo tried to convince Tommy he can still help him when Tommy demands to see him and give him the discs in the middle of the ocean or wherever it was (instead of Dream demanding it from Tommy while Tubbo tags along yada yada)
ANYWAYS- not sure what I’ll do content wise. I have an idea for a Good Omens animatic- though I’ve never drawn either Crowley or Azira lmao- or I’ll probably revert back to my original form and do a bunch of musical animatics.

PROTEGE AU ANIMATIC IN 2024??!? Incredible!! This is SO GOOD and an amazing follow to Evil Like Me! It's so wild looking back on dsmp events now.. I think part of it will always stick around in my head, even though I've been it all behind due to Everything That Happened... Fully agree with what you said in the desc! This was always one of my favorite AUs and the first animatic was one of my favorite dsmp ones ever :) love hearing that a Tangled NOthing Left To Lose animatic woulda been the third installment!! I imagine it now yesyes. This was an amazing conclusion to your dsmp content and I look forward to seeing whatever art you make next! Dream SMP will always be apart of my childhood, it also helped thousands of people through COVID, I would search up animatics, theories, and fanart of the SMP and I loved everything about it. Even if some of the people didn't age well, I'm glad that most of the people from the SMP are still great and thriving. I'm not ashamed to reminisce and rewatch Dsmp clips. Great job creator, can't wait for your next random post.

What’s the protege au? Btw this is awesome!
Hello! I can be your local historian of sorts! The protege AU was a popular AU within the DSMP following Exile (in this case) and later on the final disc confrontation. Essentially Dream manipulates Tommy into being his protege, a villain like him to stand against the rest of the server he once called friends. You won’t see them much anymore (the fandom is almost nonexistent now anyway) but it’s still a fun concept to explore whenever it is!
adding onto what @artsrandomstuff436 said, probably the most popular example of a protege AU is the fic "Rewind" by A_Non_ymousWriter! I highly recommend it, though the sequel wound up needing to be dropped for various reasons. The author is lovely and their worldbuilding is incredible. I highly suggest reading it, definitely worth your time if this concept intrigues you at all. And hey, if you want more afterwards, Rewind actually inspired me so much that it served as the core for my own protege AU! I went in a veeeeeeery different direction though. "Blood & Gold" my beloved, I toiled for So Very Long over it.
