Oh excellent mate! I had a 125ml bottle of this edt version but swapped it for a 100ml bottle of bleu de chanel in about 2012 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thankfully i still have a bottle of the eau extreme, i can’t believe i used to buy 75ml bottles of it in House of frazer for like £40 😆

I bought a newer formulation off EBAY and it smells kinda soapy and not the beast as described by reviews. The batch code didn’t validate on check fresh. How can I find out? I’ve never smelled it before to compare.

A few minutes on a card isn't a good representation of these scents. I own all 3 and they are fantastic on skin. Hope you do a follow up once you've spent time with them. Thanks for sharing

As someone who wore Dior's Eau Sauvage for more than three decades until it was brutally reformulated around 2011 by François Demachy, I would urge you to seek out a vintage bottle of the EDT. Unlike the current EDT, which smells strong, synthetic, and cheap, the old version smells clean, natural, and refreshing. It doesn't last as long as the new version and doesn't project as far, but it does include the original herbal heart notes of ginger and basil which are totally missing from the current version. Edmond Roudnitska's 1966 masterpiece deserves to be smelled as he originally intended it, something you no longer get with the current version. I now wear Goutal's Eau de Monsieur if I want a crisp, clean, tart, natural-smelling citrus cologne. It's like having a nice gin and tonic with a spritz of lemon or lime on a hot summer day.

I love Héritage and have worn the EDT for many years, mostly during the cooler months since it’s a warm scent. With its prominent patchouli note it reminds me of Givenchy’s classic Gentleman from 1974, only more refined and less in-your-face macho, which the original Gentleman was. It’s since been tamed, but Héritage seems to have taken the best of Gentleman and softened the rough edges of the Givenchy, much like Jacques Guerlain took Coty’s Chypre from 1917 and refined it into Mitsouko two years later. It’s an old Guerlain tradition!

The first time I tried a sample of Habit Rouge was many years ago. I found it dandyish and sickeningly sweet. Not my thing. But then years later, I did a blind buy for the EDT, no doubt reformulated by the great Thierry Wasser, and am glad I did. It’s much lighter, with a greater emphasis on citrus, drying down to a pleasant and not-too-sweet vanilla. I like to wear it for formal occasions during the warmer months. I’ve never smelled the modern EDP, but I’m guessing that Wasser took the DNA of the original EDT and tweaked it to give it a more modern edge. Even though I’ve never smelled it I think I’ll stick with my modern EDT.

Terre d’Hermes is a modern classic. I like the original EDT and have worn it since it first came out twenty years ago. Needless to say, it’s aged quite well. That’s how you know it’s destined to be a classic. Terre’s star will only grow brighter as the years go on.

I recently purchased a bottle of Guerlain Vetiver after reading that it had been reformulated, perhaps when the newest bottles were released a couple of years ago. Ten years ago, I bought a bottle of Vetiver and hated it. There was a heavy note of wet tobacco leaves combined with wet leather that made the whole composition seem heavy, dated, and dour. I actually threw it away rather than give it to anyone. This newest version, masterfully re-engineered by Thierry Wasser, Guerlain’s “nose,” is much lighter and fresher without that musty old man smell. I like it so much that I’ll be wearing it quite a bit, especially in the heat of summer. It’s signature scent-worthy.

If I had to pick one pleasant versatile fragrance to wear for any occasion, any time, any place, any season, it would probably be Pour un Homme de Caron. Curiously, it’s the only one of my fragrances that I don’t particularly care for when sniffing it from the bottle. Pour un Homme is so well crafted that what you smell on your skin is a fragrance that seamlessly unfolds over time from a clean, true lavender to a warm, but not cloyingly sweet vanilla. What you smell straight from the bottle is a flat-smelling amalgamation of the two reminiscent of Play-Doh that you never actually experience on the skin. Olfactory chemistry at its finest!

Great video! For many years I’ve worn Mitsouko EDT (now no longer sold on Guerlain’s web site) at night just for myself and I’ve never gotten bored with it. It’s subtle, complex, beguiling, ever-changing and understated, especially in the EDT concentration. I also own a bottle of the EDP but, as a man, prefer the lightness of the EDT. It smells a little more masculine to my nose. It's also not still with me when I wake up in the morning whereas the EDP is. If you haven't yet read Luca Turin’s book “Perfumes,” be sure to check out his review of Mitsouko. Of all the fragrances in the world, it’s his favorite, and that’s saying something.

Brother its 100% fine to enjoy fragrances, Its not an addiction, its a stimulation of senses. Just the same way some people like fine dining (taste) going to concerts, live music, opera (audio) , playing games, watching movies etc (visual) or going to gym, doing active sports, tennis etc (touch) . Perfumes I just a stimulation of the nose. Its completely fine to enjoy and spend on fragrances brother dont feel bad ! I sold 30 bottles and i really regret it
