But, i can hear through it.. the use of it as poetic license.. kinda like Volbeat.. not an overtly christian band but if you cant hear how layered it is in all their music.. one of my favourite band is CLUTCH.. and they also have a tinge in their music but it can be missed. dont let your brain shut down to it... This is my favorite Ren song, and has been from the moment I heard it. The blend of hardcore social commentary, goofball bragging, old and new references, the beat, the flow switches, the callbacks to other songs... I dunno, it's hard to explain, I just love everything about it. I was looking for some other reactions, especially to the trilogy (not 100% sure which trilogy, heh) but I can't find it. Did you delete some videos, or never get around to editing them, or am I just blind? (It's possible I'm just blind).

Yeah, Ren's not religious... he just finds religious iconography and conceptualizations to be useful shorthands. Outstanding reaction, man. You can always tell who's really been through it, as they watch this.

I've watched dozens of reacts to this now ---- but it's the song that brings me to floods each and EVERY time. Living in this grey area between wanting to feel happiness or trying so hard to extract a little joy from something that used to make you so happy. Ren brings it to another level. This video is not just the music or the lyrics. It's an entire one-man theatrical performance of a tale. In this day and age of disposable music it's a shame he doesn't get the respect he deserves. I just feel like i live in the shadow of the pendulum not allowing it to swing because i cannot stand the dark when i feel a bit of light. So i live in the twilight of feeling empty and numb

I get where you’re going, about even failing at that, and people calling themselves survivors. I think it should be chalked up to whatever issues pushed you to attempt. Suicide isn’t a disease, it’s the method one uses to make the pain go away. You don’t die of suicide, you die of depression. Or you die of Alzheimer’s. Or you die of cancer, and using the suicide method of hurrying that death up. Sorry. I’m a bit of a taxonomy nerd. But by counting all suicides as their own thing, you’re collecting shoddy data. So all of the mental health problems that end up being suicides down the road, they’re under-valued. We would spend tax money on other stuff, because “depression” has recorded zero deaths so far… must not be that bad, then.
