This is happening to us right now. We have a trio of silver fox, all around 6months old. The does won’t lift, and then when the buck does get a chance to mount them, he tries for a few seconds then just starts to pull their fur and lay on them. Definitely way more challenging than I expected.

On bucks I do not think you mentioned heat sterility as a cause of no interest. heat sterility can last up to 90 days. Unrelated I have a doe that was very aggressive to bucks before her first litter, I used a 2 hole rabbit tractor to have them side by side, she stopped attacking the divider and started backing up to the divider after a couple days and when that happened I made a round pen out of a roll of wire fence to have them on neutral space. It worked well, the round with no corners so they never feel trapped by other. The aggressive doe changed after first litter and was not aggressive when bred for second litter( she got nest box for litter yesterday). Thanks for sharing, have a great day

I just checked in on my 4 day old kits and one of them has a laceration on the hind area. the hair is a little wet but I don't see any active bleeding. Should I just use something like vetericyn and hope for the best or something else I should try to do? I tried to see if you had a video on common first aid stuff but didn't see one.

I just had my first 2 litters, 3 and 4 kits, both first time moms and first time dad. You say you buy at $2/lb, is it just because you are buying from people who can't get rid of them themselves? I was looking in my area and can't really find any for sale with a couple hours drive. I drove 4 hours for mine and paid $60 each for the trio. I'm just trying to figure out if i'm gonna be way out in left field asking $30-$40. I was planning on just advertising the availability not necessarily as meat/pet/breeders but just the flat $30-40 and the buyer can do what they want with them. I am keeping records so I can continue the pedigrees I have. Thanks
