One of the questions I get asked a lot is, “If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?” And you know my response has usually been “Oh, I want to see what Nero was really like, I want to learn from Pedro II, I’ll want to invite Aristotle, and give up my seat for Cicero, so they can tiff over who’s more self-righteous”. But I have a new answer now: The king who cared more about worshipping teenage heartthrob Richard Wagner than ruling a kingdom: Ludwig II

Apparently the nazis were just waiting for the right moment, rather than really gone.
Also Japan learned how to make award winning scotch. And really good cars.
Makes you think how much different things wouldve been under Trotsky. It really wasnt proper communism, it was a state capitalist prison state
3:45 do i spy a Bill Wurtz reference?
The ultimate giga chad.
Well TO BE FAIR Japan thought the USA would be about as easy as those bae baes they tossed in the air and bayoneted. I mean they had it all worked out.
One of the few honor-worthy kings ever lived on this planet.
As an American, I hate Woodrow Wilson, he literally tore apart Europe, and allowed Fascism to rise by getting rid of the Monarchies. He also was racist and was a horrible president in the US too.
I still wonder what wouldve happened if the romans regained the knowledge and troops of the siphonatres and wouldve been able to use them at the wall defence. Would it have made a difference or just delayed the siege for longer? Who knows
Wait... so the Nazis celebrated the music of a gay artist? Wild.
Persian Gandhi is wild
😂😂😂
I don't wanna be that guy... but I will be and I will say he did make some plans for the empire he already had. He arranged marriages between Persians and Greeks in order to cease the tensions in his empire. He respect the trafitions of "most" of the people he conquered and as we later see most people looked up to him and considered him a godlike deity. Also it hurts me to accept that, despite his greatness, Aristotle was exactly as you depicted him as far as other nations existing.
I cried a lot…
Wang Mang they could never make me hate you
Vercingetorix sort of sits in a similar camp for the French. It's kind of hypocritical, but it was something that happened when the idea of the nation state formed and people started looking into the long past for hints at the states to come.
May Allah curse you, stop mocking Imam Ali bin Abi Talib and the Prophet Muhammad
Man was so tolerant it caused integer overflow.

I really like the picture of Oliver Cromwell with women’s breasts.
you missed the irony.....The Germans supported the Chinese because Germany and China are historic beer buddies...
😂
Wow his army actually got tired of winning
The problem is, they are coming back. I guarantee you if the AfD would alone be somehow able to gain over 50% and if there weren’t certain laws preventing this from happening, they would absolutely take over and form another dictatorship.
Still hate the guy. I am a huge caesaran and marc antony fan. Cicero like many others at the time was a mad lad.
We won’t be here forever, so let’s make it beautiful 💪🏻☦️🇺🇸
FGO's twisted my perception of history to the point I had to pause at the title, because my first thought was "wasn't Minamoto Yo------ a sh** brother? Like he betrayed Ushiwakamaru?" Then I remembered who Yoshitsune actually was, that he wasn't actually a girl with a weird sense of dress, and that I was thinking of Yoritomo.
Japan's decision to declare war on the US was reasonable from their perspective. Their principal miscalculations were their belief that America wouldn't care much if the Japanese occupied French Indochina and their belief that America was not in the mood for a large Pacific war. The decision-makers first did not predict the need to go to war, and then they did not predict the need to fight a war.

Marshall would be appalled at some of the people who are members of SCOTUS nowadays!
Stanlislaus was actually one of Catherine the Great's former lovers!
Is it me or is Maxy boy sounded like joker?
Love this, thanks!
Ah come on, in the US we talk non stop of our past crimes. Victimhood is the new “in” thing and white people are the official baddies in the new narrative. It is rarer to see people praising our history compared to criticizing it vigorously. I think we need to be put on the same level as Germany when it comes to recognizing past crimes.
As an italian, half of my hearth was destroyed in 476.... The other half in 1453... But Rome still exist in the soul and dream of any good european patriot.

The only man who truly represented every Brazilian soul since its foundation, our country misses such a great man
Thank you Constantine Xi for letting Rome go out with dignity.
these shia in the comments are funny 😂
I love this period in history, it’s filled with crazy characters
For trebizond it would rather be kings of Georgia as next ceaser of rome???? Idk but trebizond and georgia were close enough in ties from 1204 a.d because king tamars sisters husband was komnenoi hans byzantine( i mean roman empires ) heir could be count Georgia as well??? Well kinda but not like roman emperors did with their heirs ( granting title of emperor or something ) it would rather be like 3rd rome or some kind of that in cultural and historical ways. . . Btw why that hell does david komnenos body is literally david IV body? Is that reference of him or something else?
Can I say there is Jas Townsend
So this Ludwig II guy is the reason Ring saw the light of day? That’s a terrifyingly delicate string of events behind arguably one of the greatest pieces of media ever created.
Great video! Thanks!
What do you make your videos with?
gonna have to ask you to pull your head out of your ass if you actually believe the japanese were not fanatically devoted to their emperor, or if you believe the nukes were worse than the firebombings. it's almost as if the japanese really did take their whole "never surrender, no matter what" mentality too far
