    I’ve really enjoyed this video until you gave wrong info about the RISII rail. It’s designed on the same lockup so if you want to change out the RISII for RISIII you can because RISIII was made to fit the superior RISII design. But thank you for this great video! I’m not trying to be a critic but getting the truth is what matters.

      @@murphslaw1276 I never want to be a smart A, but only address this issue. I love your videos and just watched your video about Zastava M70 and loved it. I also love this one. My DD RISII upper is a Block II which means it has a heavy SOCOM profile barrel. It’s heavier than a government profile barrel. If you look on Brownell’s at the DD uppers you will see the one I bought and also the RISIII uppers and the difference in the barrel profiles. Just a nugget. Again thank you for your videos.

    Great video! The Phantoms were discontinued to help fill the market with their newer P07's and P09's. The Phantom is stellar duty gun but does not have a huge market. The P07 is great for carry, but I'd take a phantom over p09 all day every day. The CZ75 platform has insane aftermarket support and the P07/9 series doesn't quite have that yet nor a proven track record . I haven't been able to justify replacing my carry P30sk with a P07 but am now however working on replacing it with a S2 Compact. The Phantom was never made for competition which is why the Shadow exists.The Phantom is best served as a combat handgun in a chest rig. My Phantom is Cajunized (self installed) with the slide cut from CGW's and a Delta Point Pro. I'm still not sold on RMR's on pistols (cuz I'm old I guess) so my Cajunized S2 gets the most love. My S2 is hands down the best home (indoor/close range) defense firearm I have (21rd mags, and shoots like a laser beam). The Shadow is way too heavy for carry as a backup firearm for almost all applications. All that said, I'll never let my phantom go and also have future plans for it. I also would not be surprised to see small batch releases of the phantom much like what HK does with their Mark 23.

    I have a Mossberg SPX 464 in 30-30. The 2019 Updated version. It's a great lever action. I replaced the collapsing stock with a Boyd's black textured straight stock after a few years, because it just seemed gimmicky after a while. Now with the standard strait stock it resembles the Winchester 94 that it's cloned/based off. I kept the original pic rail forend, keeping a tactical look and function. I added skinner peep sights. I love it. I Personally like the Space cowboy look of these new lever actions. But can't deny the beauty of the classic walnut and blued steel like my 74 Marlin 336. I also have a Rossi R92 with nice rosewood furniture, 16'' barrel in 357 Mag. I added a large loop lever, and a Rossi peep sight rail, and a Nice red dot. It essentially has everything the triple black has but it cost $350 less. I think the tactical lever action is practical. It's just modernizing a true classic firearm putting more life into an amazing Century + old platform design.

  • @f3uibeghardt522
    @f3uibeghardt522 Před 12 dny

    You don't have to add any external devices like Accuwedges to the LWRC. It comes with a set screw in the grip that adjusts the amount of play between the upper and lower. Sorry for the multiple comments, I'm watching this video over the course of days.

    • @murphslaw1276
      @murphslaw1276 Před 12 dny

    • @murphslaw1276
      @murphslaw1276 Před 11 dny

      Actually looked into this deeper. The tension screw is not a standard feature. It was on some of LWRCs products, but has been discontinued with some debate on when that occurred. Some rifles have an accuwedge factory installed and underneath it the threading for a tension screw. Mine has the polymer accuwedge which is apparently not enough on its own.

    • @f3uibeghardt522
      @f3uibeghardt522 Před 11 dny

      @@murphslaw1276 Interesting. I have a M6A1, IC-A2 and IC-A5. All were bought new, but long ago in 2016 at the latest, and both ICs have the tension screw. Plus, my IC-A5 is Cerakoted, unlike yours. I've heard others say that the Cerakoted versions fit more tightly, which seems to match my experience. I did download the .pdf owner's manual (which should be current), and they talk about the set screw. If you say it's threaded still, you should be able to buy the nylon-tipped screw online easily. I think I recall the Accuwedge change now that you mention it. Rolling changes can either be a good thing or a bad thing. Like how my IC-A2 has an ambi selector, but both sides are the short ones, whereas the IC-A5 has the long one on the left side and the short one on the ejection port side.

    There's no way the LWRC's barrel is chrome lined. It's nitrided. And one of their selling points is that the spiral fluting is more rigid precisely because it is spiral-shaped. Just like rebar, which uses spiral reinforcement to negate its tendency to flex.

    Velocity is of little concern. You only really need velocities of 1165 - 1285. Beyond those velocities with lead shot you will lose pattern density and so while there may be a lot of pellets within a 30 inch circle, you will have a lot of gaps where missing or wounding game can occur. Also, with the new TSS style loads the "Magnum" 3 and 3.5 shells are really no longer needed. At this point basically any of the choices are just as good as the next. The sweet spot for the 20 ga is 7/8, 16 is 1 oz and 12 is 1 1/8. Trying to get to those shot weights with one of the other gauges will generally end up in a less efficient pattern. They all have their place and each do the best job within the range that they are intended.

While I don’t think it’s a priority I think eventually it will be produced. Hopefully 😎If they do, I’d imagine they would roll the existing Gen 4 41 line and convert to Gen 5 and stop producing the Gen 4.

    There are two things you got wrong with the video. Number one, is that to manufacture an AOW still cost the same $200 tax stamp to form one the gun yourself, the $5 tax stamp comes from purchasing it through a form four. Number two, is that the firearm category you have to be 21 years or older to purchase unlike a shotgun or a rifle. Otherwise, great video and it is great to see people educating other people when it comes to the legal landscape of firearms as it could be very complicated 😂 also the main benefit to an AOW is that you can cross state lines without filling out an ATF form asking for permission unlike machine guns, short barrel rifles, short barrel shotguns, etc.

      Thanks for adding to the conversation. It can be difficult to capture all the details and I like it when someone clarifies something I didn’t do the best job on.

    That Aberfeldy is pretty rough and raw, try an Irish triple distilled instead, much smoother

    Good video. Would like to hear you talk more about low power rifle optics. 1x4 power optics for carbines.

    U aint going to be thinking about reset in a gun fight, try the lem trigger

      In high stress situations people default to lowest level trained. I’ve seen it and experienced it myself. In those situations I may not be thinking of reset but I am still doing it as it’s muscle memory. I have been considering the LEM trigger since I’ll have to send it in anyway

    The Mini 14 needs a 6 position collapsible, aluminum or carbon fiber stock/forearm redesign with a full length top pic rail, 14" aluminum or carbon fiber handguard with M-Lok slots at 3,6,9, o'clock, QD sockets front & rear and accept AR magazines. They would sell a ton of them. I would buy 2 or 3. That ATI stock is a fail, not fit for a .22

      I would definitely agree that is the better move. I’m not dead set on going with AR mags, just because of they didn’t want do that they could make changes to the mag release that would make it more efficient. So if the AR mags were the only hold up in getting the other features I would let that go.

    Great commentary on the topic, Murph. Great to see context-based channels aren't going by the wayside. For large and protracted operations, artillery and machine guns seem to be the way to close the gap. I'm thinking the individual solider would benefit more from tactics and better utilization of existing gear than a new rifle platform entirely. As for special operations targeting HVTs and the like, I could see the possibility of needing such a capability if body armor will assuredly be encountered. Use-case specific, obviously. For us civilians though? I dare say 5.56 is more than capable for defense given its performance against soft targets.
