Spectacular! I've been toying with the idea for years, and I think your series has pushed me over the edge. Great job on the build and the editing, really great work! 👍
That's amazing to hear. What a great compliment. Good luck and have fun!
Great tip on cutting the vinyl under the legs, I've never thought of or seen that before, but it makes perfect sense to do.
It's a good practise. I've seen plenty of pins with wrinkled decals
Looks fantastic, and I'm so happy that I'm months late to the party, I'll be able to binge and catch up today it seems! 👍👍
Have fun! The series is indeed complete 😁
I appreciate your enthousiasm, but I currently have a lot of other projects in sight that I want to do first. I bought several arcades that need to be restored :)
My wife doesn't want me to set up a full-sized pinball machine at home. Therefore, I would like to buy something similar to: Pin Station by Gibson Pinball. This is a standalone controller for playing pinball on PC and in VR. However, it is currently unavailable for purchase. You have unique technical knowledge and experience. I, along with many others, would happily buy small pinball game controllers from you. Why do people need small pinball controllers? Because they can be easily shipped worldwide. Also, they are in much higher demand. Not everyone can afford a real large pinball table. It's not just about money, but also about the available space at home. Many people rent their homes. They would never buy a large table, but they would gladly buy a small realistic pinball controller. -- Dude, you yourself are already a global brand in the world of mini pinball controllers! This niche is free and not yet occupied by anyone. Why don't you want to turn your experience, knowledge, and skills into a business and make money? -- There are many people who are good electricians, good electronic engineers, good programmers, and good sound specialists. I could assemble a team from them. But if they are not passionate about pinball, they will not ultimately produce anything good. -- You have all of this at once! You could offer people three controller options based on a universal platform: Entry-level. Advanced level. And top-level. Today, no one in the world offers this.
I have thought about making and selling machines, but I'm more interested in doing different projects each time
I'm currently not planning on making things for other people. But who knows what the future brings
If you want the knowledge, checkout the Pinscape build guide, it contains tons of info! If you don't have the time, you can also buy ready-made vpins so you don't need to build one yourself

WOW!!!!!!! You are amazing. Super video
Thanks for the praise 😁
Super mooie pinball machine
Bedankt!
Grat idea and nnice jobe fist of all. All what i miss to build my own pinball is a software part. should i use some batorecora or retro pie for this ?
Checkout the last video in the series. I go over the software there. I use VPX for this
I’m on this but sheds are expensive af
Depends on where you're located I imagine
Omg seeing those rush games brought me back man
Happy to give you some nostalgia 😁 I'll do a video on restoring them somewhere down the road
Freeze the seat also
What do you mean?
He means don’t update
hello! Please, could you give me the specification or name of these boards?
They are the custom Pinscape replacements for the Lightmite boards. You can find more info about them in the Pinscape build guide
What gets me is wire brushing the legs with a drill.. Several days? I could wire brush an entire coach in that time..
I started sanding those legs with the intention of polishing them to a shine, which is why at first I took a lot of time to brush and sand them all way more than is necessary for just painting over them. Also, I work on projects in my spare time, so most of this work was divided between several evenings or a couple of hours here and there, spanning multiple days
Nice video. Although at 5:20 you say: "a red, a green and a blue one, and ofcourse ground." In reality, the ´ground´ is connected to the +3,3 V of the 2nd power module. The colour LED´s get pulled down to ground bij the FET´s on the Main Board to light up.
Yes you're right, this one slipped through, but it's indeed the ground side that gets connected for each color, while the common wire is the supplied voltage. I don't remember exactly what voltage they run on but it gets stepped down by the big resistors
Hey - great work! You dont have to use Teensy Board and Octoboard for adressable LED?
No, you can also use a D1 mini with Arnoz' software. They're a lot cheaper
I watched your progress and you have talent in both electronics and video editing. Well Done and thank you for the shout out!
Thanks for following along!
Where can i purchase the mesh
I bought it on AliExpress. You can take a look at the parts spreadsheet in the description of the last video
Name of the printer?
No clue what the printer was, don't have access to it anymore, but it was a laserjet with those large ink cartridges
Could you please provide the font and size you used for your button labels?
I just used plain old Arial. The font size varies for each button as I stretched all the text out to cover most of the button. The circles that go in those front buttons are about 21,6mm in diameter
03:07 I feel like Teri Garr in Young Frankenstein... 👀
I have no clue what either of those references are 😄
Amazing final details, the most comprehensive virtual pinball machine I've ever seen! Well Done!! 😃😎
Thank you for the amazing compliment! And thank you for watching
Hi mate. Thanks so much for your series.Really great detail and help. After watching though I realise just how much work needs to go into it.While i will have the time and budget to build I dont think I can wait so long to be playing the final result. We have a company here in Australia called Extreme Gaming Cabinets that do a nice machine that would equal about €3500 to buy. While being more expensive than your fantastic build I think the extra cost to be playing sooner may be worth it. No matter what thanks again for your great series.
It took my very long, but it doesn't necessarily have to be that way. I wanted everything to be perfect, down to the small details, so that takes a lot more time than building something that needs to be playable. Also, I built for 2 years, but after about half a year I could already play. After that I could add things to it to enhance the experience, which is also great fun. Buying a machine is also definitely a good option, but I can't speak on any of the vendors as I don't have experience with them
@@overtinker.projects Good points.Yes i guess you got the basics done and then enhanced. You should be very proud of where your machine has got too.Well done.
Probably obvious and you're way past that, but just in case... did you make sure your TV is put into "Game Mode"? That usually helps a lot with latency.
Yes it is, good that you mention it, I forgot to say something about it but that's definitely important
Fantastic, what are those contactors? I'm looking for some of my own
They are Siemens 3RH1140-1BB40, but they come in all kinds of models. I got them second hand on Ebay
Alvast bedankt
Heel mooi
Bedankt!
do you have start plan in pdf i want make one for myself
I don't have any plans, but take a look at the Pinscape Build Guide. Everything you need to know is in there
Great videos! I’ve seen your work posted on Reddit and I’m catching up…. What amps are you using? Thanks!
Thanks! Good to know that my videos get picked up on Reddit as well :) I used a TPA3116D2 2.1 amplifier that supplies 2x 50W for the speakers in the speaker panel and 100W for the subwoofer. For SSF I started with 2 PAM8610 amplifiers that each supply 2x 10W for the exciters. I upgraded those amplifiers later on to 2 TPA3110D2 2.1 amplifiers who supply 2x 15W to the exciters and 30W to the subwoofer channel. The back subwoofer channel is connected to a Dayton Audio TT25 PUCK and the front subwoofer channel is connected to 2 Dayton Audio DAEX13CT coin exciters under the lockdown bar. Hope that helps :)
Hay great video , random question how long did it take you to edit this video ?
It's a bit hard to say. There's quite a lot to it. I already had all the footage of building the vpin, but I wrote scripts for each video so I could do a coherent voice over. Writing the script already took some time, then recording the voice over, editing out all the mistakes and making sure the tempo is good. Then, matching footage with the voice over and recording any missing B-roll and the intro amd outro. I actually don't know how much time I effectively spend on one video, but it takes me 2 to 4 weeks to get one done.
That's crazy! This video series is a pure joy to watch and I can't imagine the amount of work that was put into building and filming all of this! I can't wait for the final part :)
Thank you for all the praise! Comments like yours are very valuable to me. It did take a lot of work. 2 years of building and I've now been editing on and off for about a year. The final part will hopefully be done fairly soon
Incredible. I just spent the afternoon watching all 7 videos and can’t wait for the next one! If it’s not too rude to ask, about how much did this cost to build?
Thanks, that's so nice to hear. I'm still working on the final one, I hope to get it done soon. I'll give a lot more info in that video like the cost with a spreadsheet with all the parts, but I'll already spoil the fact that it cost me about €2000 in total
Love this build. And the tutorials. Did you angle the Dmd screen panel back slightly like stern machines? I think they do that to avoid reflection on the playfield. Just designing my own and was curious if you did this. Thanks!
Thanks! I didn't angle it, it sits straight. I never really have any issue with reflection on the playfield glass, but maybe that's due to the glass being more flat than 90s or modern pins since it's an EM cabinet
Sometimes this looks so intimidating but I love when people can make it seem as accessible as you have here. You've put me back in the spirit of a project I'd put down for a while. Thanks for the great content friend.
That's so nice to hear! Keep on making man 😁
might as well build a real one. 😂😂😂
That is definitely something I would like to do at some point! But I'd like to do some smaller and cheaper projects next 😄
Love the series….I wish I had your skill level and the guts to try a project like this for myself (but alas, I don’t)! I was wondering about the CPU/GPU/RAM specs you used to smoothly run the tables at 4K/120Hz……Thanks!
You can start a lot smaller and simpler than this vpin to make it less daunting. I only have a 60Hz screen, so no 120Hz. I run it with a GTX 1070, which I feel like is a bit underpowered for the latest tables. I don't know exactly what CPU I used but I'm quite sure it's an I7
Perhaps a extra suggestion : replace the yellow cards with 2 small displays, so you can see the rules per game on the left side and show the payment rate or freeplay modus on the right side !
I have thought about this since I completed the build. It would be really nice, and I have one of those 7" screens laying around. But I feel like I can just look up the rules for the game instead if I really want to learn them
Excellent info and presentation. Thank you!
You are more than welcome!
Love love love this!

Very nice video and one of the best levels of detail in a v-pin I have seen to date. Great job!
Awesome to hear this. Thank you!
Is that the Original playfield I see in the background @ 10.09
Very keen eye! That is indeed the original playfield. It was gifted to me by the seller of the cabinet. Turns out he sold the cabinet empty because the game was broken beyond repair so he sold the parts separately. He was never able to sell the playfield because it's very damaged. It now has a nice spot in my shed :)
Wow!! Love what you did with the lighting. This is amazing
I love it too 😁 both types of lighting add a lot of immersion to thr gameplay
Dude, you are killing it. Those lights in the speaker, so nice! You keep adding stuff and making it seem all to easy, over here hiding your genius. Great work.
Thanks! It does seem easy when it's all combined into a video like this. Took me 2 years to build it though 😅
@@overtinker.projectsJust the wiring and knowing how all that works would bust my mind open. It's a thing of beauty, you deserve all the credit.
I definitely underestimated the time it takes to wire so many things. Luckily there's a really good guide for making vpins that I could work off of
Love it great series :-) The door looks amazing, would be really great if you could share or explain how to configure the LEDs. :-)
I might touch on the software in the final video, but probably not too in depth. The regular leds are controlled by the Pinscape software, thr addressables are ran with Arnoz Tiny Tools if I'm not mistaken
