Petrifying Productions is an independent film and multimedia company out of Laramie, Wyoming. It started when three friends decided to make a "horror movie" in a creepy old building. The result was Violette Child, which was not nearly as scary as the creators envisioned. They had so much fun that they planned another movie called Among Us, about the Men in Black, voodoo dolls, zombies, aliens, time travel and the apocalypse.
Following success of their first two horror films, they decided to create something a little more lighthearted with an actual screenplay. Forewarned started as a short film, but it grew into a full length movie.
Their next movie was a full length remake of George Méliès' 1902 film Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon). At this point, Petrifying Productions upgraded their equipment to a nice HD camera, boom mic and lots of other fun stuff they don't really know how to use. The Astronomer premiered at the WYO Theatre and was screened at AnomalyCon 2012.

Howdy, what a truly brilliant performance - loved it.
London, I was talking with your dad on Monday at WHD state finals and he mentioned your Hindenburg video. I have just taken a look at it and realized it is a great piece about the AHC and what you can discover here. I would like to post this on the AHC's blog, Discover History. Is this the right version, where the mistake is corrected? Any chance I could persuade you to write a couple hundred word introduction to it? Cheers, Paul Flesher (Director, AHC)
thank you 77🕊
Watched an American Antiques Roadshow from a few years back, and a young man, who had metal-detected where the airship came down in Lakehurst, NJ, had a bent and fire-damaged spoon that was a relic of the Hindenburg. If I recall correctly, the spoon was appraised at something like $1,200. To me a piece of history such as that is worth 10x's more. I would never sell something like that, though, I would give it to a museum.
As a huuuuuge Marvel fan, and a history teacher, this really impressed me. You did a phenomenal job on this, and I'll be using it as an example for all of my students. Stan Lee has had a big influence on my life, and although his loss was tough, his legacy will definitely live on. You nailed it. :)
Excellent work London. I'm proud to have been a part of your series, and hope more people learn about Sun Ra.
Loving this video!!!
Congrats Stacey Tilton

Looks like I'm back here again, using this NHD project as a model for my own for the second time! Hopefully I can get to nationals again! Well done.
Thank you, I'm glad I could help! Here is another one of my documentaries, maybe it will also inspire you: czcams.com/video/vA-MzeXaQaQ/video.html
Can you send me a link to your project? I would love to see it!
For your picture bibliography, did you use the dates of the pictures or the website? Also, in your annotated bibliography, how did you site your interviews?
I mostly tried to site the actual photograph unless I could not find the original source in which case I sited the website. In terms of interviews, you should try bibme.com to see how to do it in the style you are using.
I have participated in History fair every year and I've always enjoyed doing a performance. You guys have done an excellent job with your thesis statement and your claims to back it up are so unique! I'm glad this video is out for those who use it as an example! Great job guys!
Thank you!
nice work
Agreed
Also congratulations on being first
Wicked song!!!

Hi! I have done NHD two years in a row and your doc has really inspired me. I was wondering what you software you used to create it and what you used to record your voice overs. Thanks so much and great job!
Great job! I really loved the camera work on this one!
Thanks!
Hey there London, Well, silly mistake aside, you made an excellent little video here - not just about your Hindenburg research, but about the American Heritage Center archive in general. Very interesting and informative. (And I still want to make it out that way to do some additional Hindenburg research one of these years!) Cheers, Patrick Russell
Thanks!
Hi hazel, you may remember me. My name is Nile Debebe and I competed against you in Wyoming state. I did my project on the Black Panthers and the judges ripped me to shreds because I was too "biased." I was wondering if you were competing this year in the individual documentary section as I am.
If you want to take a look, a draft of my documentary is on my profile.
Yes, I do remember you! My mom made a complaint about those judges last Friday, asking that they be better trained this year. They had no idea what they were doing and treated all of us unfairly. Your documentary was very well made and I was very surprised that you didn't make it to the finals. I'm in the senior individual documentary category this year and I made it to State. Are you a senior or junior?
I watched your doc and I could tell that a lot of research went into it. It was also very well edited. You are definitely competition!
+Hazel Homer-Wambeam Yeah i'm in the senior individual catagory. Hopefully I get second and go to nationals with you. Who are you doing your project on this year?
That's really sweet! But, I never count my chickens before they hatch. My documentary is on Charlie Chaplin, the most famous comedian in history.
This performance is great! My teacher showed this video as an example for all of the performance groups competing in NHD both this year and last year. Last year my partner and I were eliminated in the first round of the State finals, and we're heading back to state this year to try again. Any tips on how we can make it farther this year?
Dear Kate, Thank you so much! My tips are, your group has to be really dedicated to your project and practice every day. Make sure that you perform in front of your parents, friends, grandparents, classmates, teachers and anyone else who will watch so that you can practice questions. Questions are a very important part of the competition because the judges want to know that you really know your topic and that you created it all by yourself. Also, make sure that your topic clearly relates to ALL parts of the theme. I know that is hard because the theme this year is three parts, but national level projects state the theme very clearly. What state are you from and what is your topic? I hope I could help, -Hazel
Hey Hazel, I first just wanted to say that I'm absolutely in love with this video. I'm in the nhd and I would love it if you were to give me any tips to create a video as extraordinary as this. I haven't decided on a topic yet, but when I do I'm hoping we can try to work things out, if that's okay with you. I'm in a group documentary and I showed my teammates this, and they loved it! It made all the other teams documentaries look like poop. So thats all, and I'm hoping you can reply back as soon as possible. Thank you so much!
Thanks! My tips are just to be dedicated to your topic and to work really hard. I put long hours into this project.
