Summary Managers at startups vs big companies would have different responsibilities. Managers also assume some of the responsibilities of a product manager. We are responsible for the product. Primarily the goal is to make sure we have a well functioning team in place, psychologically safe, a very happy team, that’s going to be able to make those decisions and then execute them. There should just a simple for loop starting from 1 to blocks.length -1 and distance counters calculation distance to the previous and next blocks from current. Thats it. I think in multi billion dollar company like google there's enough money for paying for development in small increment chunks of 10 -- 100 lines of code each and for reviewing all code until perfect.. In typical low budget projects dealing with tons of legacy crap your commits will be at least hundreds lines of code,. most of it just transforming the mess in the more digestable food, if you try to write perfect code you'll be fired soon for there will be always someone to write it faster and crappy, for product managers it does not matter what's inside as long as it's working.
