70mai Pro WDR ON and OFF -Day/Night Dashcam Comparison
This comparison is based on 70mai's original firmware, not custom firmware.
The video size is 50% in the center and 150% on both sides.
Please adjust the playback speed yourself.

Based on the above post, I enabled WDR by following the steps below.
1. Install 1.0.7cn Chinese firmware. (I didn't use the multipatch)
2. After installation, reset to factory default.
3. Enable WDR.
4. Install 1.0.7na English firmware. (*DO NOT RESET after installation)
5. Switch from PAL to NTSC in the P/N settings of the smartphone app.
The video size is 50% in the center and 150% on both sides.

I ordered the pro because the price is almost the same but the quality difference is huge. I paid 58 Euro for the PRO shipping included, the price of the LITE was 52 Euro. Doesn’t make much sense saving only 6 Euro, I think the LITE is too expensive for the quality.

The Lite seems better . Even has Speed Display! The Pro seems to be recording at high res occupying more Card space. Sure you did not get the two cams mixed up?

which one did you buy? IMX307 is better night visibility, but IMX335 is better daytime clarity.

Agreed. I just got the 70mai and I can't see any licensplate at night :(
Current fw version in viofo is 1.03, and as far as I remember it doesn't natively support 265 codec {it can be worked around with button combination though}. Additionally, hdr setting is turned on, hence the artificial brightness. All of these sum up to flawed comparison. Viofo is far superior than this xiaomi and shouldn't be compared, as a direct rival. It's different league.
You do not see the registration numbers at night, except under certain conditions. If you bought 70mai Pro, to see the registration numbers at night, I bought Viofo 119 V3 for the same reason but I can not see any registration number at night except in certain conditions similar to those in the video above.
@@jasminnealexxia8666 Registration numbers will not be visible on any registrar at night. Unfortunately, this has not yet been resolved technically.

Proの方が絶対に良いです。 両者の解像度の違いは歴然ですし、Liteは露光がドラレコ向けに上手く調整されていない欠点があります。 0:48の左側のマツダ販売店を見ると、停めてある車がLiteだと暗くなりすぎているのが分かると思います。右上の空を見るとLiteは青空と雲が白飛びせずに映っていて一見綺麗ですが、空の様子などドラレコにとってはどうでもいい情報です。 ↓は私の動画ではありませんが、夕陽に向かって走る場面ではこのように悲惨な事になります。 czcams.com/video/UJnEMoQd8Gk/video.html

wonder if the front window reflection (or rather lack of it on last camera) is cause of the camera settlement on front window or is it have some extra functions to improve visibility?
The last camera (A119 V3) has a CPL filter, which reduces reflections, but all others have no filters. The cameras have no special features to reduce reflections and improve visibility.
Why didnt you have the WDR on on the Pro?
There is no WDR function in the international version of PRO.
@@best7oo899 Software update 1.0.9 got WDR :) Just updated, I think mine is International because of English menu. Very good recording quality.

I think VIOFO A119V3 is the best, but it is expensive and a little overexposed. When using A119V3, I recommend reducing EV to -1/3 or -2/3, it reduces motion blur and makes it easier to read license plate.
