Women for Women's 2024 - Hon. Margaret Norrie McCain, C.C., O.N.B. Women's Trailblazer Award
In 2021, we established the Women's Trailblazer Award to celebrate a member of the Women’s College Hospital community who has had a measurable impact on the hospital, our foundation, and community as a champion for equity, health, and women. This award recognizes a visionary individual that is committed to being a champion for others and creating a more inclusive healthcare system and society.
Mrs. McCain’s vast philanthropic footprint has extended to women’s health where for more than 25 years, she has been a valued member of the Women’s College Hospital community - an acclaimed advocate dedicated towards improving the lives of women. Mrs. McCain has been a generous supporter of Women’s College Hospital Foundation (WCHF) and is a member of the Foundation’s 100 Women initiative, convening women philanthropists committed to driving bold change for the future of healthcare.
She has also assumed key volunteer roles as a longtime member of the WCHF Advisory Council, and former member of the WCHF Advisory Board and Women’s College Research Institute Board. We are honoured to have the opportunity to recognize the indelible impact her immense charitable contributions have made to healthcare, education, women, children and communities across Canada.
