How We Perform NIPT at London Pregnancy Clinic
• In this video, Molly from the London Pregnancy Clinic explains how Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is performed. Many mothers might be worried about how NIPT is performed and whether it's safe for both the baby and the mum. Here’s a step-by-step overview of the process:
Introduction to NIPT:
• Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing is a screening test.
• It helps assess the risk of chromosomal conditions in the baby.
• NIPT is completely safe for both the baby and the mother, as it only requires a small blood sample from the mother.
The Procedure:
• Ultrasound Scan with London Pregnancy Clinic to check Viability of the pregnancy. (required at LPC - other healthcare providers might not perform an Ultrasound Scan with NIPT)
• Blood sample collection starts from around 10 weeks of gestation.
• The sample is taken just like any regular blood test and is then sent to a laboratory for analysis.
Laboratory Analysis:
• Scientists isolate the baby's cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from the plasma.
• Advanced genetic technology, such as next-generation sequencing (NGS), is used for detailed analysis.
Results:
• The test results are sent to your healthcare provider within a few days.
• It's important to note that NIPT is a screening test, not a diagnostic one.
• A positive result indicates a higher risk, not a definite condition.
• Further diagnostic testing may be recommended to confirm positive findings.
Molly provides valuable insights into this important screening procedure. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Pregnant 19 week anomaly scan says nasal bone is 6.1 mm what's the meaning
In March 21, 2016 my birthday I was born in mommy’s stomach and my twin brother Aiden
What gender is that baby?
13w3d, mine is 3mm.is it ok..plz suggest me.. my doctor said terminate this baby
Same picture meri prgncy m bhi h
We have triplets and complete the NT but the result was scary because of the doctor who was in the scanning room.. its like NT-2.5mm at 95th percentile...is it normal????
3.1 is it normal?
So the difference, is 3d is just snapshots and 4d is movement?
Yes exactly! 3D ultrasounds provide still, three-dimensional images of the baby (which can be rotated on the machine), while 4D ultrasounds provide a live, moving 3D video.
Really a great exposition. Congratulations!
Thanks a lot!
Elisete

My baby’s NT fluid was over the 2.5 limit. The doctor brought up Down syndrome and I just remember how I was looking for answers. My baby is 3 months old and healthy.
Hi there did you do a nuchal scan and how accurate was the reading of the scan that you did if so? We are trying to get answers as well and had to resort on coming onto CZcams for answers. Also happy for you and your now 4 month old healthy baby 😊☺️
Mine was 6mm.. NIPT was clear and just did CVS yesterday. 🙏🏼 scary place to be
If NT is more than 3 then possibility of any syndrome,if less than 3 then don't take tension
What was your measurement of it was above?
@@dorisfaulkner9721what was the CVS result? Congrats to you
