Do dheineas focail an amhráin a scrí amach anso thíos: There's a home by the hills of Glendore, That faces the broad open sea, Where the wild rivers rushed o'er the shore, And the bulrushes wave in the breeze. Where the green ivy clings on the door, And little birds sing on each tree, To my darling their sweet notes they coat, Is ar Éirinn ní neosfainn cé hí. Last night while the skies were a glow, And the sun had gone down in the West, And the skies were like mountains of snow, As they slowly declined to the West. I stole out to meet my asthore, And fondly she waited for me, By the old stile at lovely Glendore, 'Is ar Éirinn ní neosfainn cé hí. I have tried all the years of my life, Through sunshine, storm and rain, And I surely will venture my life, For to save her one moment of pain. I climbed the high hills of the land, And swam through the depths of the sea, For one touch of her lovely white hand, 'Is ar Éirinn ní neosfainn cé hí. Her father has riches in store, Rhine cattle, cotton and wealth, And prime lands 'round lovely Glendore, Whilst I have with youth and good health. But she's the fine maid I adore, With love she clings onto me, Without riches or no earthly store, 'Is ar Éirinn ní neosfainn cé hí. Like the sick man that longs for the dawn, I long for the light of her smile, And I'll pray for my own cailín bán, While I'm waiting for her by the stile. She's my joy, my pride and my hope, My own darling cailín na Sí, Oh she is my promised bride, 'Is ar Éirinn ní neosfainn cé hí. And if troubles will be by us both, Between her loving parents and me, In a liner that will be afloat, We'll go up to some far country. Where we'll have a home of our own, And live in fond unity, Like a king and a queen in their throne, 'Is ar Éirinn ní neosfainn cé hí.

"Tá ár Ríghe imithe uainn." And Jesus Christ he was sent off like a King too. When the coffin was being sung away and the people joined in for the chorus of Mo Ghille Mear, I got shivers down my spine. That was something special.
