yeah this is nowhere near "worst of all time", me in my early 20s probably would have enjoyed this unironically

The is nowhere near the worst album ever made, I can jam to this stuff, there are a ton of records around this era that just meander, no hooks or anything to grasp onto. This album ain't bad at all.

I loved ELI since the fist album came out i saw the tour in 1978 at the cne grandstand in Toronto in july i remember it was beautiful out and i was so stoned .Was an amazing night So fortunate in those days so many Great Artists touring .Great vid thax so much for saving this 😃💕😎🇨🇦👍

when i was a kid my sis and i bought a bootleg "billy joel early years" cassette at a record convention and this stuff was on it. we absolutely did not believe it was him. this was way before Wikipedia.

I grew up with ELO and hadn't realized that it was my FAVORITE ROCK group!!

There is a German band called 69 from 1973 who did this kinda thing too its better but have to commend Billy hes damn good . But really check out 69 the album is Crawfish Circle also that band is just keys and drums and it rocks.

It's better than any of the garbage he put out in the last 40 years.

Wow, Billy Joel plays some heavy ass riffs on that organ! Very Jimmy Page and Tony Iommi-esque. And the solos sound like a nicely overdriven guitar with each note having a picking attack sound. Amazing tone and playing!

I read about this on Billy's Spotify bio and here I am... this album is amazing.

I don’t know why this album is as hated as it is. It’s really not that far off from some of Sabbath’s music, and they’re one of the greatest bands ever 🤷‍♂️

The music wouldn’t be so great without that album cover, and vice versa. They go hand in hand.

Never a fan of Joel's mainstream works, this totally blew me away, and this coming from the same guy who did "Tell Her About It", "We Didn't Start the Fire", "Big Shot", "Piano Man", "River of Dreams", "Uptown Girl" and so many others. I lived through the 1970s and '80s and it was impossible to escape Joel's music. The problem I have with his music is it's too mainstream for my taste. So to hear him doing this brand of organ-heavy brand of heavy rock truly blew me away. I found an original Epic label LP at a record fair for $30.

This record changed everything 🤘

The biggest problem is the mastering, it's absolutely horrid. I suspect someone has re-mastered it in the last 20 years and absolutely destroyed it.

Welp, it's no Fuse (pre - Cheap Trick), but that would necessitate guitars. In my opinion that's the only thing this album would lack. Fun to hear what he did b4 he sinned & went "pop"... 😜

I loved ELO growing up. I was sad and disappointed when the cello players, Melvin and Hughe were gone. This show is brilliant with the lladies on cello and Rosie's voice. Jeff can still sing, and so can Richard.
