Get an electric mower and no one will care.

It is bad neighbor etiquette. Pay no attention to it anyway. 15 minutes won’t kill anyone. If people complain about it , then they suck as neighbors.

645? Eh..it is bad..but that might just be too early to actually wake any one up. I'd rather you do it 4am while I'm dead drooling asleep instead of right around the time my weekday alarm goes off

It's an annoyance, but i dont think it breaks rules. In CT you can only complain about noise between 10pm-6am

We Texans know that if you need to do anything outside in the summer, early is good. I would say no earlier than 0600 or 0630, but no worries. Do what you have to do to stay safe. AND I would also take some time (if you haven’t already) to introduce/get to know the neighbors… A few driveway/front porch chats with some iced tea (or other beverage) can go a long way in building a happy neighborhood.

Not Texas, but Arizona, if the suns up you're free to do yard work. Granted we don't have grass but the landscapers my elderly neihbors hire use power tools on the trees and bushes before 6 AM and nobody complains.

I mow before 7am, now granted I do have one of them new battery operated mowers so not much noise.

Yeah when i was you ger i remember my dad mowing bright and early jn the morning and my neighbors doing the same. I mean when ever i mos i usually wait till 7:30 it's still pretty cool then.

I live in an apartment but I'd say you're in the clear.

I'm a not a morning person, so my husband set up shop lights & construction lights outside for me so I could garden at night.

Move somewhere cooler. You can’t mow after 9AM in 100+ degree weather.

Why not mow after the Sun starts to go down?? I'm just saying this from the perspective of somebody who has to work very late at night and their sleep time is 4:00 a.m. until about noon. There's noise ordinance here where I live thank goodness... I just feel like there's a way to avoid heat stroke and to also care about your neighbors

While it’s a crappy thing to do, you also have a solid reason so I’d tell them why your doing it so early (if they don’t get it already)

Mower going is 7am if you have neighbors imo. Before that, it's rude. If he wants to mow early, get an electric mower. Really quiet.

Most cities have ordinances that state “quiet hours” are from 10pm to 6am. They may not love it, but you’re well within the law most likely. Even 6am would be totally cool. If your neighbors are so worried about it, they can invest in a white noise machine.

Yeah no… they can deal with it. My bf mowed the lawn at 9:30 and almost had a heat stroke. I’ll take my health over someone’s extra hour of sleep, sorry not sorry lol

I used to live in Louisiana, so close enough. I think possibly giving your neighbors a heads up if you are on good terms is fair. Its hot out. Maybe they will join in too, to get that cooler morning lawn mowing out if the way.

My husband bought a robot lawnmower. You program the course for it to run, and it's almost completely silent. We have around an acre, and it does a great job

I've lived in Texas my whole life, and I might be in the minority here, but I feel like 7 AM is the earliest, and I'm probably going to bitch about you to myself if it's before 8. I totally understand wanting to avoid the heat, but it's usually 3-5 degrees difference between 6 and 8 AM. Also, don't mow dead grass. It doesn't grow, so it doesn't need to be mowed. Since most of the state is not in a drought/ actively flooded, it might just patches in your lawn that are dead rather than the whole thing like it would've been during the bad droughts. Regardless, if it's yellow, leave it alone. This will save you a lot of time mowing as the summer goes on.

doesn't matter if texas or not.. waking up other people at 645 isnt alright..but i still get it. Now I always say do it at 645pm or 7p still plenty of light.
