This particular color of Blue...is called "Chartres Blue!" This color is so unique that they are still trying to replicate it! This Cathedral is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary! She was bodily assumed into Heaven to be with her Holy and Divine Son! This Cathedral has been called "Mary's Playground!"

The French Revolution tried to erase our history and roots. I am not proud of it. But we keep celebrating it.

Thankyou Laure and Marie for presenting such an informative video. Laure, your knowledge of the lives of these famous people is exemplary. So often I come across videos here on Utube where the person/narrator has absolutely no background knowledge of whatever subject the video is about...zip ! The only thing I have issue with is Marie's scrummaging around, then handling the small tokens people had left on the fortune teller's gravesite. Shows a lack of respect IMHO

I just visited Musee d’Orsay. I saw all paintings in this video. And I saw the exhibition of Van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise. It was an excellent and I loved it. It was fun to see several paintings from US which I saw many times.

I think the next time I visit Paris, I'll need to go here. My ancestors are (supposedly) Godfrey de Saint-Amand ne Geoffrey de St Omer one of the founding members of the the Knights Templar and his younger brother Odo de Saint-Amand (8th Grand Master).That's the family lore anyway :-)

Thank you! Good for you for mentioning Victorine-Louise Meurent! Not only was she also a painter, but her works had been accepted by the Salon even before Manet (but, really, it seems everyone was accepted before Manet - ha). I never see anything by Marie Bracquemond, yet I see where her works are listed as being at the Musee d'Orsay. I've watched perhaps a dozen videos, some of them go quite in depth with showing the works in the museum, but I never see Bracquemond's work (and I don't mean Felix). Is she there? Is her work on display? Or is it in storage? Do you know? Other than that, good presentation. Wish I was there.

It's not a good idea to touch items on a grave. Also don't touch rituals found at Graves you don't know the intent behind it. Stones and coins left at a grave are a sign of remembrance and respect.

I enjoyed it very much.! in my humble opinion all these so-called modern artworks are extremely ugly and don’t fit into surroundings so the monster statue is definitely something I don’t like. The same goes to many so-called modern art pieces in Paris. It’s kind of sad to see a beautiful Square in Paris with some ugly monstrous piece of junk called modern art which has nothing to do with art to be honest. Regarding this so-called revolution in France and the revolution in Russia, I think that a betrayal of oath to the Czar or the great French King Louis the 16th is definitely not a revolution, but a betrayal, the lowest quality of a human being is to betray so nothing to be proud about there. I hope that the Monarchy in France and Russia will be restored one day so we can enjoy this splendor, and glory again.. I am just sure if France and Russia restores its monarchies. They will become great powers once again..
