500 lbs Dead Lift into sub 5 minute mile
zhlédnutí 20KPřed 3 lety
It was so special to make my first attempt at the 500lb deadlift straight into a sub 5 minute mile challenge on the first track I ever ran a mile for time on at Big Bear Middle School when I was in 7th grade in 1995. This track is where my running journey began, so it was incredibly special to return to it after all the years as a much different kind of athlete. The memories of all the time-tri...

u see' u ignore my warning cause u're so proud- typical american. what a shame' u seem like a nice guy. i warned u out of love of god but it's my last warning. most believers after getting save forsake the lord for they think that its all about them now for god love them and he will not forsake them no matther what, so they dont serve him and they are not willing to suffer for him. u're too. u're going on the wide path to hell. REPENT AND WAKE UP BEFORE TOO LATE AND SAVE YOUR FAMILY. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL.

  • @yeshuaistheonlytruegod7594

shalom to u, from israel. i found your channel few weeks ago while watching marathons. i also love running. r u catholic or true believer- born again? u sound like believer but u live a worldly life which show u're not a believer. here u speak about god but all your videos and messages are just about sport. what about the lord? it seems u've forsaken him. u know he's coming back very soon? if u were a true believer i beseach- ask u to repent to him with all your heart. sport is important but its nothing compair to him. it seems that its an idol in your life cause u make videos just to showe everyone how feet u're instead of doing vidoes about the lord to glorify him and preach him to the lost. its time u wake up and repent before its its too late. seek him with all your heart instead of seeking people recignition and honor. yeshua whom u called jesus said- what gain will grow for a man if he will earn the all world but looses his own soul? time is over for games, its time u grow up and be a true man of god. soon -END OF THE WORLD. THE ANTICHRIST IS COMING SOON AND HE'S IN YOUR NATION. WAKE UP/ i hope u will take my word to u seriouslly cause i'm concern about your soul and your family. GOD BLESS U.

Loved the video Ryan! Glad you've been getting in shape post-retirement and are looking strong! I was wondering what kind of lifting program you'd recommend to get into similar shape? I come from a 10 year long distance running background and have recently subsided on it for similar reasons you did. I currently weigh 148 (up from 140) after nearly 2 months of no cardio. I am starting to hit the gym and have been doing a 5x5 routine that incorporates squats, bench, deadlift, pull-ups and other barbell work. This routine calls for 3 weekly workouts. I was wondering what method you used starting out? I know I need to consume more calories specifically 1 gram of protein per body pound. I want to run a little bit so I think I will start back next week doing 2-3ish miles on my non lift days at a slow enjoyable pace. I don't want to overdo it in fear that I could kill my gains.

Bolt, if Ryan answers you then so be it but if he does not here is an answer. Fatigue causes the runner to slow down and this fatigue is caused by a build up of lactic acid and the conjugate bae lactate, The fastest time in running would be from zero lactate biuld up during the entire run so finding ways to do the run on 100% oxygen would give you the fastest time possible. A place to start would be to learn about cellular respiration.

Like your wife on that 16 mile tempo run on Valentine's Day. Her steps were short and quick. You could see less vertical oscillation compared to your longer, slower loping stride. Not like I'm an expert or anything, but it seems to me that maybe sometimes you need to change things a bit as you get older. You can't expect the same results from the same approach as when you were younger.

As I watch your videos it seems like you and Sara hint at your struggle with why you run and how it can be considered a selfish ambition. How does this help people ... Well I can say when you run for the glory of God it is not a selfish ambition and that manifests itself in the actual helping of people. I was feeling really down ... I mean down right depressed and aggravated. But watching this video gave me hope ... it lifted me up ... it helped bring me peace. There is something so beautiful about watching the elite run. God made us to move. Thanks. - By an up and coming cyclist. By the way have you watched John Piper's Sermon Jam on Running?

  • @estiedawson6169

do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? run in such a way as to get the prize. everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. they do it to get a crown....that will not last. but WE do it to get a crown that will last FOREVER. therefore i do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I bring my body into subjection and make it my slave so that after I have PREACHED to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. God bless ryan!!

I was surprised at the end when you talked about marathon and half marathon effort, because your cadence seemed so slow. It seems to me that most of the elites have a faster turnover than what you were displaying in this video. I guess everyone is different, but is it possible that you may get more out of your obvious natural talent with a more efficient stride rate? Wilson Kipsang is a pretty tall dude too, but his turnover at marathon pace is definitely faster than yours.
