The making of No More Shall We Part, from the God Is In the House DVD. Couldn't find the whole thing on CZcams, so here you go.
Taken from the live dvd originally included as an extra .
20.25 time of comment What a fab documentary. Love it I love to see behind the recordings of the album.
What a brilliant man
Love Nick's piano playing, and his baritone voice 😊
BLIXA...was 'ne dumme Sau
By far my favourite bad seeds album, my favourite line from hallelujah “ I passed a cow & the cow was brown “ fucking genius
👁El ojo
I love how many kitten references this man makes.
I think Bad Seeds lost a lot after Mick and Blixa departure.
This album is good, but Blixa and, eventually Mick, had to take off.
It's so weird to see Warren without his beard.
Warren Ellis without he's obligatory beard . . . looks 10+yrs younger .
Murder ballads and No more shall we part are diamonds in the musical rough
16:28 I'm dying that this was at least acknowledged during the recording of the song
I'm glad I'm not the only one that's been hearing that for over 20 years! 😂
Love Blixa. He just had to move on
RIP Kate McGarrigle
This album is 99% the story of my life.
Likewise buddy . . .
warren looks like such a dork
This is one of my very favorite albums of all time and obviously a classic. So who is Nick’s tailor? That b/w checked jacket is absolutely beautiful 🤩
Well I can hear a load of Leonard Cohen influence allover Nicks stuff here ...
Indeed. He even has the McGarrigle sisters singing backup vocals. Might as well have recorded it in Quebec! Hallelujah….
I wanna hear all the sacrificial lambs.
Lmao! 16:00 with her accent sounds like “sweet hot cum” and they know it’s a problem unless she pronounces right. Lol
oh,they all work hard
no more shall we part is for sure in my top ten list best albums of all times. this was a beautiful film. unbelievable i didn't see this after all this years eventho i'm on youtube 24/7 . but seeing his son beeing such a little boy back then, makes me so sad. RIP! " my sorrowful wife " is one the greatest song ever created by human!!
Hey, the boy in the film is Luke Cave. Nick has four sons, Jethro, Luke and twins Arthur and Earl. It was Arthur, in 2015 aged 15. Luke and Jethro were born in 1991.
Luke would have been like 11 in 2001 when this was made. Arthur would have been 1 thats not luke, Luke is also Brazilian with dark hair not blonde. the child in this is not Nicks@@yfmt
Lovely to see Tony Cohen at work, shit, everybody's dying
Love seeing Blixa and Nick together. Blixa is a musical genius, miss him in the Bad Seeds.
absolutely right!!! he had a very very important role. you absolutely hear post " no more shall we part " that blixa isn't on board anymore. Nick created his best Albums such as this and boatman's call together with blixa. sad story with his son, no? that lil cute boy isn't alive anymore
@@TheNimasan Yes indeed about his son. It seems like it sparked brilliant creativity for him though, and as he mentioned, "I am Besides You." Transcendence, if you will.
@@TheNimasan yeah like carnage isnt a superb album??
I miss Conway so much!!
So good, thank you for posting.
youre the best
God, I love this album.
Anch'io adoro questo album..... meraviglioso
How do singers get anything done smoking around so much in the studio? lol
About died when Nick actually said "Sweet hot cum" 🤣
18:25 the true vampire in the band
I find this is my least favorite album from the Seeds' discography. Too long, repetitive, too bland in its arrangements, mixed too soft and god what was Nick trying to do with his singing here. The shame is a lot of the songs really stand up when picked apart on their own (Love Letter and Hallelujah are absolutely fantastic) but are lost on the flow of the album.
It's interesting to read this, as it is actually one of my top favorite 5 albums of all time, but I understand your reasoning on a rational level.
How weird, I really cannot agree but I guess, everyone might have their own reasons for their taste; in my case, I was gifted the CD in a very tough part of my life, and I fell in love with it because, in a way, it saved me from bad things.
When I first encountered it (as a teenager soon after it was released) I hated it, and thought it was by far the weakest album in his discography. I revisited it near 10 years later, in my mid 20s, and came to find I adored it. I’ll agree a bit on the repetitiveness of some songs, and on the length for that reason, but most of the album is legitimately great, with at least 3-5 essential Nick Cave songs, for my money. If I had to quantify/score it, it’s an easy 8/10 imo. With some editing I think it could be a perfect album.
also, gotta love Warren Ellis playing the violin with his whole body and face
holy shit, footage for the whole of "The Sorrowful Wife". Awesome.
One of the few albums in history that made me cry
RIP Conway x
Yep id still pay to see that dude nick cave!
really awesome insights in recording their album. amazing work. thanks for creating this documentary about nick cave & the bad seeds!
27.34 :-)
RIP Tony :(
Is that Kate and Anna McGarrigle at around 17:00 or so?
YES
Yes, it seems he wanted a bit of a Leonard Cohen sound on this album. They worked out well.
That piano intro at 1:30 sounds haunting.
25:32 super cute moment 😂❤️
Warren looks a bit occult with those devilish looks and that fiddle dance of his.
R de R very Paganini.
i m so glad and shock!
Blixa bargeld is a joke
Is this like a “Primus sucks!” thing, where you actually think he’s awesome? I hope so...
*joker
ellis, harvey, and blixa anything with these gents.
The Nick Cave Dream Team.
23:54 Blixa super cute <3
