My name is Michael Duong. I'm a science teacher by trade and an unqualified backyard mechanic and car wrecker outside of work hours. I initially started this channel as "Science with Mr Duong" during the initial COVID period to help my students better learn and understand science while we were all in lock down.
In my first year of working full-time as a teacher, I had the brilliant idea of spending the majority of my first year salary in buying my very FIRST MANUAL car, which also happened to be my FIRST SPORTS CAR; the Subaru WRX VA 2016 MY17. Now I create videos about cars, anything from DIY car mods (explaining the science behind car mechanics, parts and performance) to car culture and share cool stories people may have about their car, and/or just admiring cars and car spotting at events.

The Perfect Driver's car, but is it worth the $370k price tag? | Porsche 911 991.1 GT3
In this episode, Addy shows us around his BEAUTIFUL Porsche 911 992 GT3. The Porsche GT3 and GT3RS has always been one of those cars that I dream of, especially since the release of the 992 GT3, I couldn't get my eyes off of it. For Addy, this has already been his dream car. Coming from Pakistan, living in London for a few years and seeing these machines every day like its the equivalent of a corolla, helped him manifest the day he would own a GT3.
For me, this is the ultimate dream car. The science and engineering that goes behind this car just tickles my brain. From the new design of the rear wing, to the double wish bone suspension derived from the Porsche RSR Cup Car, this car is supposedly the epitome of "German Engineering". Despite being a "track focused" car, it is surprisingly comfortable. Even on the short drive, the car is 911 is quite compliant and SO POINTY AND PLANTED even at low speeds.
The way this car sounds (albeit with the aftermarket exhaust) sounds so amazing - unfortunately microphone did not pick up on the aural bliss inside the cabin. The way this engine revs and sounds all the way up to 9000 RPM is something that nothing can come close to. Despite being 500 HP (highest HP engine car I've been in), and even how quickly this thing accelerates, it doesn't feel that fast, the car feels so planted.
One thing I do think is weird, is that every GT3 model as of recent has come out with 500 HP which does not seem like a lot in today's climate. However, being a track car with all the aero, 500 HP is probably plenty for every track.

@MR Duong TV I am think aerpro have updated harnesses now for the premium models with HK. Bought my 016/MY17 a few weeks ago finally! aerpro site has some updated harnesses compared to what you have linked: Sony to ISO - APP9 Harness and Patch Lead/APP9SP6 For steering wheel control and reverse cam - CHSU12C factory antenna - APA75 Still need to go to autobarn and confirm with them. Notably looking at a different head unit too (XAVAX6000) so could just be using an entirely different harness EDIT: I think I will just buy an idoing head unit :(

Not on this particular one. Pretty sure subaru only offer an STI short shifter option. Stopper would be aftermarket i think
Do you think it need them ? Is it too sloppy with the shifts as most say ? Do you have them in your va?

My mom owned one of the very first NSXs on American soil and my sister wrapped it around a light pole, breaking it completely in half. I have the engine and transmission in my garage, but sadly I don’t think it will ever run again. I have noticed oil running down the block and it originates from the side of the block where there is nowhere for it to leak from.

Great watch 20min of content went so fast! engaging. The NSX looks alot faster than they are, well back in the 90s it prob was "high performance" for the era and time period. Great street presence car also, nice!
A few corrections: The first VTEC equipped engine was the b16a first introduced in 1989 in Japan. Also, most Honda V6 do have VTEC, but the NSX was the only DOHC (others being SOHC)

Cool, just did this in my 2017 premium. Only hiccup was when removing a plug I knocked the folding mirror button and module to an angle to the button was permanently stuck down, meaning that when I started the car the mirrors would just fold back in again. 5 minute fix to reposition the switch and I'm good to go, thanks for the guide !

Bought a 21 sti in March '24 wi 8 n half k on the clock. Within 6 weeks i put on the following IAG AOS IAG oil pan/baffle/pu tube 4th cyl cooling mod Mishimoto radiator with mush stays GS red rad hoses Killer B thermo housing GS v2 BPV GS pitchstop mount Perrin master brake cyl brace Cobb AP only married just to watch the vitals. Ill get a pro tune in next 12mo just to tidy it up a little. I love it!
Sounds like you got a good list of mods! great longevity mods and cooling. Not big power but the pro tune on that set up will liven it up a little bit. Punchy set up , quick spooling.

Too much rear wing, or rather just very unbalanced? Why reduce front grip to the point of possibly causing high speed understeer? I don’t mean to hate I just think you need to think harder about your changes to the car and what they are doing. Please watch @Julian_Edgar and his series on modifying car aerodynamics.
