Prophet X Epic Sample Pack Vol 2. Over 1500 individual samples from custom made D-50, Emulator II, Fairlight and Synclavier sounds.
Layered, processed and made highly usable from the time you've loaded them up in your PX.
To get you started I've also included 40 patches using some of these samples. Bank 3 patches 1-40. This is a sysex file. You don't have to import this sysex file to use the samples, but these patches use some of the new samples to get you started.
If you have my Epic Sample Pack Vol.1 from before this pack of samples will not overwrite any of those in your PX. Samples in Vol.2 are put into u5 (synth), u7 (synth) and u8 (choir) on your PX. (Folders u04, u06 and u07 in the PX file hierarchy)

Hello, i bought same unit from someone. There is sound of guitar but no effects sound - no matter what i press. Its because im missing defeat switch pedal? I found out that look like there a defeat switch that needs to be connected on back to active effects?
Sounds like it's in permanent bypass mode yes.

I think you need to be careful with D-50 stuff. Eric Pershing doesn't take kindly to non-authorized reproductions of D-50 sounds being sold for money as supposedly he still has control of relevant IP/rights.
Almost all of the D-50 sounds here are custom made patches.
I'm glad you mentioned Joe Jackson. I love his hit singles from the early '80s, but he often gets overlooked in discussions of synth pop pioneers, perhaps because he also used a real piano.

Great sounds as always Espen! Any plans to do sample packs for the soon-to-be-released sampling update for 3rd Wave? Running 16, 12 and 8 bit samples through those amazing SSM filters is going to give off some great Emulator II vibes!
Thanks! No, I have no plans to do that. I have many PPG Wave samples in the first volume.
@@EspenKraft The 3rd Wave is a wavetable synth of course, but the new sampling option is different that's been added as a free update. Real sampling, not just the wavetable creation tool that already existed.
Truth is I have very little desire for the 3rd wave. At that price it's a total joke. It's not alone in that regard though. Most modern synths are glorified VSTs. The PX as well.
@@EspenKraft I totally thought the same thing until I tried one. I actually have the desktop module which in the US can be acquired with discounts for under $3k. When you really get your hands on one, and understand everything that can be done with those 24 voices in terms of binaural patches and / or layering, and then you hear the sound of those SSM filters you realize it is going down in history as a very special synth. I do agree with you that most modern synths are VSTs in a box, but even when you just hear the implementation of saturation for example on this synth, you realize it is not like the others. Not sure what they did circuitry wise but it has an analog warmth that is just not present in other hybrid synths.
I can tell that you love it, and that's the most important thing. If YOU think it's worth the price then it is. To you. To me it's definitely not. ;-)

From the standpoint of sound quality as a sampler, does anyone see any advantage to using the Prophet X (hardware, obviously) over just using NI Kontakt software sampler and a MIDI controller?
The obvious reason is you don't have to have a computer with you. That's a big thing of course. The PX can't sample so it's not a sampler.
@@EspenKraft True but it plays samples and through an analog filter which Kontakt doesn't (unless you route its output out and through one) so that may be a benefit Prophet X and its particular features offer.
I have the Prophet X so can have all the sounds I need (from my albums and releases) when I do live gigs. That's basically why I got the PX.
@@matthewcragg3607 good point, but there is still a difference, the PX has an stereo-analog filter for each of 8 stereo voices or in 16 voice mode a dedicated one for each of these voices and not, as in your comparison, just one filter for all voices. That makes a big difference in sound.
Absolutely. My demo videos for sound packs are not to showcase what the PX can do. It's there to show what sounds you can get in your PX.
The Alpha Juno 2 was my first analog poly. I was a fool to sell it. I got a JX-10 and then added the Vecoven 4.x PWM upgrade which also adds the multi-stage envelope, which greatly helps close the gap, but it's still not the same, the Alphas have better control of chorus and the added waveforms.

Hi Espen! Why didn't you use the original D50 patch names? Are they copyright? Are you worried about Sequential discontinuing PX due to components shortage? Greetings
I'm not easily worried. ;-) Original patch names aren't really correct as all the samples have been modified to some degree.

I hope all is well with you & your family!😀FYI, I just settled down with my very-necessary morning coffee (first of several! lol), and discovered that you had just uploaded a YT when I turned on the computer! This was great timing, as I always love the superb sounds you create & the sampling techniques you use!👍My listening session was a great way to start my day. As always, I am in awe of what I heard....your beautifully emotive pads, delicate but very 'present' bells, complex synth/keys sounds which will cut through the mix..and not a single disappointing patch.👍Yet again, you have me very tempted to purchase (the out-of-production) Prophet X ! lol.😁Consequently, I'm hoping you will rescue my wallet as you did with your previous Prophet X sample pack, i.e. by also releasing these awesome samples that in a format that is compatible with (and tweaked for) for use in sampling software, such as TAL Sampler! 🙏
