Is it only me who thinks it's not at all charitable if people go into charity shops and buy items cheaply that they know are worth a lot more and then keep the items or sell them on at a profit and keep the money? It's just greedy and unethical, and is ripping off charities that are trying to make as much money as possible for their cause. To me, it's the same as stealing a charity box of money! At the very least, tell the volunteers if you spot an item that is way underpriced and either don't buy it if they put the price up or buy it and donate the difference. I'm a jeweller and have done this with jewellery for sale in charity shops. Since when has Britain become this grubby little country where everyone is competing to pay the lowest price possible for everything, even charitable goods?

She's right charity are totally after changing ..I used to have that negative feeling about charity now I am addicted...I love finding a bargain and they are so many gems to find once you start iph can't stop..I would say over 95% of my blothes are bought in charity shops

The charity shops in my area are crowded with people looking for bargains. I don't think the stigma exists in my area. Ive been shopping in them for over 20 years and I absolutely adore them. I never feel overwhelmed as I can't get enough of them, bric a brack, clothes, jewellery, accessories, you name it Ive bought it, Got a great haul last thursday, went into 4 different ones, and bought something in each one, youve got to spread the love around!!! Here's my haul, a lovely aynsley china ornament, little pot with little daffodil flowers, now in my display cabinet £2, a string of 8 little light up wooden houses for wrapping round the Christmas tree, now adorning my kitchen counter £1.50. A beautiful denim skirt from Monsoon for £4. A lovely ornamental watering can for flowers £1 and a little wire basket for £1. So all in all 5 things for just under £10. Did I need any of them, probably not, but they brightened up my day and gave me a huge adrenaline rush!! you gotta love a bargain!!!

I love second hand shops. Lots of my favourite items in my closet have come from them but I find that you really need to know your labels these days to avoid fast fashion items that fall apart in a few washes.

I found a back pack in a charity shop once and I got home and found out it was off emp and worth £800 and I used it as a school bag lol 😂 only cost me £1
