Beautiful❤
Thanks for this! I have a pair of orange cheeked waxbills & I love to learn more about them.
Learned a lot from these videos.
Did these breed in a colony?
That's a lot of birds for such space. Or at least that's what I have a read. Would they actually breed well for you in this set up? Curious because I have small space, and would like to do something similar.
mooi man
Just getting back into it. I used to do ok breeding my waxbills with a similar set up to yours. A divorce stopped it and I also had a break in. Let’s see if I can get the same success. Great video
This is great! I really appreciate the details you thought to share.
Very useful. Thank you 😊
Love violet eared waxbills ❤
Are they easy to breed?
They are best suited to a flighted environment rather than cages but can be free breeding.
Hi , How much are they sold in UK for? I purchased recently a pair for 400$ . Are they tough to find
They vary depending on demand I'd be looking for £120-150 a pair for current year bred birds
❤❤❤❤

Beautiful birds 🤩
Nice information 👌 congratulations to all involved 👏
Thank you so much for uploading his video. I learn a lot from this channel and all its contents!
When the male waxbills get aggressive with the female we do I'd clip the males main fight feathers on one wing that usually slow him down so she doesn't get hurt and claims him down and they can still breed he's just not as fast as her and slows down chasing her chasing her around
Pintail Whydahs parasite orange cheek waxbills, so there goes Whydahs too.
Can anyone name the species seen in this video?
Nice birds, and great job breeding 🙂
Oh! Violet Ear, Blue Cap, Cuban! My faves from my own collection! The Cites bill made import illegal and finches became difficult to find in the US. Love their happy sounds - thank you
Thankyou for passing your knowledge on !❤
thank you Andrew
After your all moved, please share your new avaires, and waxbill collection with us! We're learning more than you can imagine! We're all trying to breed as many species of waxbills in America as we can, as they are no longer available in any numbers here either. Thankyou!!
Unfortunately Doug no longer keeps any birds, his knowledge however lives on to help future generations. We've found the same over here in the UK, some species have simply ceased to be but were still pushing and sharing ideas to increase waxbill numbers. If you wish you can join the society as we offer a pdf subscription?
what were you feeding the Bengelese in order to raise the waxbills, live food, or just eggfood or something else
These birds are my first finches ever.
Great birds you got❤
