I fly fixed wing and a buddy of mine trains Blackhawk pilots on this same sim. On his base. For the first time in my life I got on base and was allowed to fly the UH 60 and it's an experience I will never forget. I done rather well even though I never flew a rotor craft I had pretty good knowledge of how they work and their attitude once in the air. Take off was a breeze but though I got it my landing was a little squirrely. This thing is amazing. Their around ten million from what I hear. I'll start putting back 20 bucks a week.

I wuz the last class of ITS at Geiger; after that it became SOI. All I remember from ITS is racial wars between Italians and "dark greens"--what that was all about, who knew, but you didn't want to get caught in the middle of it--ITS was a bit dangerous. You could get fucked-up in the barracks. One motard got beat on all the time--he had the BCG's, pizza box, skinny neck, and no testosterone--the right motard requirements--until one night, after another whupping--for having a pizza box, BCG's and no testosterone--he grabbed an e-tool and cracked his aggressor over the head in their rack--we all cheered on Pvt. Urkel, Steve for that--it was about time (both were "dark greens," by the way). I think that was the moment he became a man. I also bought Megadeth at the Jacksonville Mall and heard "Are You Experienced?" for the first time all the way through as loud as it could go--that was some shit. There was a dude name "Wagner." This video has no "Wagner's." Wagner was this thirty-something dude who the Marine Corps should have never let in--we all know such persons for the amazing works of art they were; he had a beer gut and hair on his chest--none of us had any of that yet--he also had some nasty women at his command that he never said anything good about despite the amount of time he spent with them not to mention their activities--we could learn from him, if we had any sense. I think he went UA--he wasn't FMF material, was fully aware of that himself, so/and told us he wasn't going and I don't think he did; a lot of people went UA in ITS, they'd pack-up and leave on a Saturday morning with everyone watching--like they were only headed to chow with all their stuff. This bunch looks a lot better than our people; we looked like we needed help. ITS staff were clearly people the Suck didn't want anymore; were on their last tour because their EGA's they got in 1950 were now purple blobs on their arm; or they were people who'd ruined their careers--for being cool was my guess. That was clearly the problem with some of them--they were go-getters, so were a massive pain in the neck and embarrassment for the lifers--to ITS they were banished--see how they like that. ITS was run by an assortment of characters E-4 and above--we spent a lot of time in the field is really all we did--"the spider drop" from a window was the only skill I can think of learning (which came in handy when I got evicted only to return, so study hard--and set an alarm in case the landlord shows-up at Zero Dark Thirty). We did a lot of humps, got pissed on, froze, sweated, chewed-out from time to time as a reminder of where we stood--and ate a lot of MRE's; I had a car during ITS which we were not supposed to have (that may explain the bus ride in this video). I arrived to ITS alone, driving there from the house like a moron--I probably had a cheeseburger wrapper in my cargo pocket and granola on my lips; after parking wherever it was I "secretly" parked, I turned in my orders to ITS HQ--I was one special motherfucker. Probably everyone knew I had a car that I somehow kept all the way through ITS--wherever I parked it to fool Gunny Grandpa, was probably two blocks away: Don't have a car in ITS--you'll ruin your life after all your "car friends" leave when you all finally do something stupid--probably in another state because you had a car so would have otherwise never made it that far (Myrtle Beach always went wrong for us--we were lucky to make it back in time for formation--we'd run to formation half-dressed, one sneaker, one boot on, a "South of the Border" t-shirt underneath the cammies--the signs were there--so I quit going to S.C. altogether, but it took a long time to sink in--I even had a brush with a dependapotamus determined to get me to re-up forever but I managed to escape across state lines--with some legal advice from the Suck itself--it was a cheesy situation so I was desperate). After ITS, me and a few other Prives went to 1/8 down the street--we walked there--1/8 was right down the road so was like a trip to the corner store. Speaking of which, if I thought I had fun before in life I had no idea the party zone I was headed to--C 1/8 was a drunk-fest 24/7/365. Open squad bays are better than Disneyland and Walt Disney World combined--because they both have to close--open squad bays never close. Booze was C 1/8's overall mission--I'd already broken-in my ride during ITS so was headed for real adventure with the heavy-hitters in PA, NY, and even Worcester, MA.
