Overdriven layers of fuzz and distortion! Love it.
I want to like this song. The sound and energy is excellent. The lyrics are toxic and like a lead weight, it sinks this otherwise great piece of music to the bottom of the barrel. A lot of rock has bad lyrics, so I'm not picking on Neil. I often like the sound and have to ignore the message.
Nothing original or innovative about the BJM except for Joel, he rules!

Me and Melissa Eaton ( a beautiful 17 yr old girl from Freeport Texas) drove up to the Summit in Houston to see Neil and Crazy Horse on Nov 11, 1976 the day before Neil’s birthday. I was a 21 yr old shrimper. I remember them jamming on Cinnamon Girl for about 15 minutes- amazingly intense rock n roll! Between Melissa knocking me out with those American thighs and enjoying that music, it doesn’t get any better!!

I saw them at Windsor free festival. The woman out front freaked me out. I saw Motorhead at Skindles in Maidenhead.with about 150 others. Stood right in front of Lemmy wondering what the hell was Ace of Spades all about.

A question for Lemmy's fans : I was in UK around 1982/83/84 and I saw Hawkwind live in Plymouth. I am pretty sure the bassist was Lemmy. Is it possible or am I wrong ?
The only Plymouth date I can find from that time is 23rd March 1984 and the bassist was Harvey Bainbridge.

@@KStarDid It's certainly possible, but he's not listed for that gig on the website I looked at and it does mention the other times he appeared as a guest.

Ok, I listened to it more carefully, and yes, plenty of good things. But I remain adamant, the studio version is objectively superior. It's better constructed, cleaner & sharper, while the singing is also far better. This version is too long and meandering, as was Young's tendency. A close second best version, I acknowledge, but sometimes shorter is better!
