Inside a TCL Roku QLED TV with the LCD removed
zhlédnutí 8KPřed rokem
Deep inside a Roku TCL QLED TV (5 series 55S555, 2022/2023) I take this TV apart and operate the LCD separated from the backlight. You can see that it is actually partially transparent and see how the color filters operate to generate colors. Also I take a look at what is generating color in the back light unit (BLU) including the LED and phosphors and quantum dots. A new technology using an ex...

Dissecting a Samsung QLED TV (75 inch)
zhlédnutí 29KPřed rokem
We are taking apart a Samsung QLED TV. This model (Q7) is a 75 inch LCD display with QD (quantum dot) technology. We removed the LCD to expose the full backlight unit and analyze the optical spectra including QD film. Interestingly we find phosphor converted LED in the back light contributing to the red and green color (in addition to the QD film). Full teardown and analysis of what we find on ...

QLED TV teardown and analysis
zhlédnutí 43KPřed 2 lety
Taking apart and analyzing a 65 inch Vizio MQ8 LCD TV. This TV has full array local dimming (FALD) and quantum dot (QLED) technology. We take a look at the inner workings and analyze the color quality of the QD film as well as got a unique look at how LEDs behave in a FALD TV by watching an epic game of "snake" with the LCD panel completely removed.

The fact that this incredibly advanced display is mass produced and can be so cheap nowdays, says a lot about how far tech has gone, and people really don't appreciate as much as they should.

Ok, so the reason why black levels are not as good as WOLED is because the ambient light excites the QD layer which activates it, essentially? Does that mean that sun-lit room might excite it more due to the significantly higher UV light emission? Seems like the light filter isn't able to block 100% of the ambient light, which causes purple-like tint on the display when it is off,

I also have a situation of gnats getting into the screen through the front bezel. I have tried to seal with glue but somehow they got back in. I tried to access/ clean from the rear but it looks like they are between the lcd and the light panel. Any suggestions would be welcome before I bust out the heat gun.

Do modern TV Panels use the internal EDP display port style connection? Or is it often just some proprietary thing? I asked because I was curious if It would be possible to hook up a controller board or even plug it directly into an adapter to a graphics card. I know this was possible for some class of LCDs years ago. Didn't know they'd migrate it away from that or if I went to it as a standard.

I'm guessing you are well monetized by CZcams to afford to do this to a brand new tv. Thanks for the inside view. I used to do a lot of tv repair from crt sets to lcd sets. As led came along repair calls pretty much vanished. They are so cheap no one wants to pay to fix one so I haven't had a look inside the new tech sets.

Hi. Brilliant video. The reason i watched it mainly was becease i had purchesed samsung qe77S90C. Which was very expensive but it has some sort of screen fault that i am trying to research. Unit is brand new straight of the box and has this fault where the pink tint is missing and i think it could ne antyreflection coating that has failed. Awaiting samsung emgineer to inspect but wondering if you could give your opinion on it.

Hi, any tip on how to remove a little gnat who decided to infiltrate behind my tv screen and died there? It went in from the top and died a couple of centimeters down from there, i tried to blow at it, aiming to push it to the side but i only made it go down even further, i also tried to gently pull the screen with a sucker to create some space to make it fall to the bottom but it seems like it's stuck, any tip would be very appreciated, thanks

I specifically found the previous videos on a quest to elucidate "quantum dots" and it was really helpful to decipher these marketing terms. this one... not really piqueing my interest as it is a reassembly but not in depth in any particular aspect.

I replaced the backlights and I’m struggling to put the tv back together And there are so many screws

Do you know zone dimming works? Considering it's edge lit and there's a constant light source? Sounds complicated

    • @NanoPalomaki
      @NanoPalomaki Před 9 měsíci

This one is not edge lit, it is FALD which means there are LEDs uniformly spaced over the entire area. Lights can go on/off dynamically to create brighter/darker zones.

This really helped me remove my broken screen. I managed to remove it without further damaging the screen and kept the bezel in place. It was just lifting the screen from the bottom slowly letting the weight of the back panel do the work by separating the glue from the two panels. I'm now looking for a new screen of this size. If anyone knows where I can get I'd very much appreciate the help.
