Craft addict sharing what I have learned over the years. I am self-taught and everyone learns their own way so my way might not be your way but it might help you find that way. There is likely to be a mix of all sorts on here eventually from knitting, crochet and weaving to painting, drawing and polymer clay.

My surname is Salisbury😅
Where will buy this loom knit
I don’t know where you are based but any big craft store such as hobbycraft sell them or check online as plenty of website sell them.
Thank You so much for this video! It helps me a lot!
You are welcome. I am so pleased it was helpful.
The shine on that pink yarn is fabulous.
It is sooo pretty isn’t it 😁
thank you stitching along with you again
We call that design Pātiki as it is alikend to the shape of the Patiki or flounder fish. ❤
Thank you for that information I never knew that. I am going to look up the information to learn more about it 😁
Glad you enjoyed it Sonia, and that it went well - lovely for us to be able to have a look around at the others stalls too 😊
It truly was an amazing weekend. Everyone was so lovely and the turnout was well above what I expected for a brand new show. Here’s hoping my next one is the same 😂
Sonia, if you happen to see this…I am on a Facebook break but still doing our stitchalong today. I meant check before going off, if you have WhatsApp so I could still show you 🤦♀️ Hopefully find a way to share today’s stitching with you - just picked it up and some lovely colours in the needle this morning 😍
Hiya I hope everything is ok and Facebook hasn’t been causing you trouble? But yes I am on Whatsapp 😁 Do I need to give you my number to find me on there? I can’t remember if you already have it 😂
@@SoniaJones Nothing major just a few niggles so wanted a break…yeah I think WhatsApp uses phone numbers and I don’t have yours. I don’t use WhatsApp often so it’s a learning curve 😆
@@SoniaJones got it 👍🏻
This is very relaxing to watch
did not get to see you live , am stitching along with you . Working on a biscornu
Awesome 😁
Thanks for the great introduction to Inkle weaving. Can’t wait to get started!
You are welcome 😁 Have fun weaving
Over from iveyb
Love it. My granddaughter is at the age (7) where she likes to do her own hair and loves hair scrunchies and these.
So pleased you enjoyed the pattern and I am glad your granddaughter loves using them 😁
I think you made great progress for an hour, especially as you were filming and chatting too. It’s looking really good 😊
Yep got to love those half cross stitches they are so much quicker lol.
Due to watching on catchup you may see a couple of random comments from me 🤣 I do my half cross stitches the same as you, same as the bottom leg, and think it looks fine….I have a similar mixture of half and full stitches and different numbers of strands in mine 😊
That actually makes me feel much better about mine as I was feeling like I had already messed up with having the legs different but I know how fabulous yours always look so it clearly isn’t a bad thing 😁
Ok.. after many yards of wasted yarn, I will try again with your tip.. I’ve been doing it like on the instructions but it just falls apart at the end.
If you have a problem with them falling apart I would needle felt or sew in the very center before you shake it out that can often help keep it together 😁
Thank you! Loved it!
You are welcome
After watching your tutorial I made a sunflower to upcycle a handbag :)@@SoniaJones
Awesome if you are in my Facebook group please do post it as I would love to see it 😁
This was so helpful. Thanks!
You are welcome
Hola
What is the yarn your using
Really beautiful
Thank you 😁
all 3 units in module are same or only 2 units same ? same size and fold ?
Normally you would do all three units the same for a module but the two different folding ways are interchangeable so you can have a mix of the modules as well. It is explained in the video how they still work together they are just slightly different folds depending on the look you want to give.
Interesting thay you copyright your scrunchie patterns. Copyrights, esecially international ones, take a long time and are very expensive. They are even more expensive to enforce and usually require a lawyer.
The copyright is for my video not the pattern and copyright is automatic in the UK so not costly at all. The pattern is free for anyone to use as they want, just don’t use my video and claim it as your own.
Super, thanks for the response. I feel a lot more comfortable trying this lovely scrunchie. I've never seen those coils, they are so cute and would look darling on my granddaughter.
Too much talking
Well don’t watch it then. Find a video you like or make your own, many people have found this video helpful.
I have recently bought one of these which is almost identical. No doubt the same company. Thank you soo much for this because the booklet I received with mine is a little confusing. Making patterns: my set has a QR code to watch how to, videos. I already have been using the round one from the same company and again the instructions are unclear, however, once you know how, It's great fun. I'm excited to try this one thank you ever so much x
I hope you have fun creating 😁
Thank you
You are welcome
Love the way you explain things, making it so easy to follow, like its no big deal, but then you wind up with a lovely scrunchie that everyone i given too have just loved them and I see them wearing them all the time...Thank You so much for sharing❤🎉😊
I am so pleased you found my video helpful 😁 I hope you and your friends enjoy the scrunchies.
That’s looking so beautiful. Bet you’re glad it’s finally finished.
Yes definitely it was worth the time in the end but my god it took so long 😂
Well done Alice! You don't have to give me a prize - i just entered for fun. I like to chsllenge nyself from time to time and I have two year-long challenges for 2024 (Boo challenge and Little Likac socks)
Thanks but I would really like to give you something as you made it worth while doing 😁 Maybe once I have dyed all the new yarn colours you can pick something from them? 😁Or let me know a colour before hand and I can dye it up for you.
Hi Sonia, I am new here but have never seen glass etching done before. It would be really good if you spoke during your video’s and explained possibly what you are doing and why. That way you would be sharing your knowledge and expertise with everyone and helping us to get and idea if it was something we would like to do. Please don’t take my comment as a criticism, I just think you could help us newbies that know nothing about these crafts.
Thanks for your comment. This is just a short so no real time to explain what I am doing but I am happy to do a longer video tutorial if you like? I do have a range of tutorials for many crafts on my channel but the shorts are just quick peek into what I am doing 😁
It would be nice if u went slower to see prices
I can’t go slower as it has to be under 60 seconds for a short. Try using the speed setting on CZcams to slow it down or just pop onto my shop website and see the product prices.
Hippy life is unconnectedable sonia...but this is thorough and comprehensive thank you. In colloquial English " it's the dogs."
Thanks for letting me know. I have a new site alicorngifts.co.uk but Hippylife should have been redirecting to it so will see what’s going on.
Very good thank you. Love and strength to you.
Thank you. You are very welcome.
Thank u for help😅😊😮
You are welcome.
OMG!!! I love the colors. Just when I thought my yarn collection didn't need any more yarn.
Thank you 😁 I am so happy with how this years colours turned out I need to dye up more asap as I want to make so many things with them 😂. These are definitely becoming a regular pack for my shop as they have gone down so well. 😁
Beautiful yarns! 😍 That person was VERY polite. What an overreaction! Can't seem to catch you live lately. 😔 I miss talking to you. 💜 I really miss my dad. 😪 All the 1st holidays without him are hard. Happy Holidays 🎄
Massive hugs to you 🫂 I still miss my dad and it’s been 20 years now 😞 so don’t be too hard on yourself allow what ever feelings want to come be felt and never bottle it up 🫂 Don’t worry I haven’t been going live just pre recording at the moment. It really was an over reaction wasn’t it lol. Happy holidays 🎄
The neons set just gets prettier and prettier 😍 Glad the show went well at the weekend 😊
Thanks 😁 How are you? All ready for the holidays?
Forward knot
Thanks I know it is a forward knot or a half hitch knot. I filmed this six years ago and was having a brain fog day so couldn’t remember but do now lol.
So beautiful, thank you
You are welcome :).
Loving the neons Sonia 😍😍 And agree the poster in that situation was definitely the rude one!!!
Thank you 😁 They really are the rude one aren’t they, can you imagine telling someone they can’t do what helps them and makes them happy ( as long as it’s not harming themselves and others)
I totally agree that this person is indeed the arsehole. I actually can't socialise at all without knitting or crocheting, and if I don't knit while I watch a film I absolutely will annoy everyone else watching with me by talking to the film for its entirety. I knit on the bus to cope with people being ignorant. I knit in waiting rooms to avoid leaving before my appointment. The only people who have ever said anything derogatory about my stitching are my siblings, and probably because they don't appreciate the crafts themselves and have no understanding of my anxieties. What a fun segment! I daren't look this up on Reddit for myself because it will probably capture me for days 🤣
So glad you agree, I don’t think some people really understand how therapeutic crafts are. Yeah I can get lost in reading the threads as some people are shocking and some really did nothing wrong it’s such a mix which makes it so interesting I think lol.
I cant do tha
What can’t you do?
Gosh, your Christmas lights around your yarn are so jolly! I love them 🎉
Thank you 😁
I got from Amazon,thankx for help👍🙏😊
You are welcome, I am pleased I was able to help 😁
What’s the name of the metal things that hold up the toy? I’m trying to test my plushies.
They are called G clamps 🗜️ good luck with your testing.
That pink is beautiful! I'm a little confused about this month's theme though; perhaps you could clarify a little please x
Thanks and sure. Sorry I didn’t explain it well enough. It’s Journey so about the craft journey you have took this year, the new skills you learnt the new outlook on the crafts (if any) anything you learned you like or didn’t like. Basically a reflection on the years challenges and combining them into a single project (or multiple) that can showcase your years crafting journey. Does that make sense?
@@SoniaJones yes - I might not have been paying enough attention when I watched, but thank you for indulging me. I will have to think about this one! 💜
Don’t worry I know I ramble and don’t always remember to say what I meant to, so it could definitely be my fault 😂.
Love the pink yarn , I am doing vlogmas for the 1st time . Sorry I have'nt been taking part in your challenges life has just a real poop the last few months . Will look forward to seeing the other colours of the yarn
Yep I had to start with my favourite colour 😂 No worries life has got in the way for most of us so the themes just couldn’t be done, as crafting time was minimal for almost everyone. I had fun still as it got me thinking and trying new things. I hope you are doing ok?
I used C clamps to hold down my looms on tv tray stands
Yeah I would is clamps but these tables can’t use clamps while filming due to the angles I need to be on camera and the type of table it is. When I work on them myself I clamp them down.
Beautiful yarn
Thank you this is one of my hand dyed yarns, I need to dye more of it as I sold out and I really do love the colour lol.
What would they have used in fronter days to make something like a strap for something like a shot bag or a possables bag
I am sorry but I don’t know, I am not a historical weaver so do not know much about the traditional materials 😞. At a guess I would say linen, cotton or wool but that would be a pure guess.
@@SoniaJones thanks for the information
