Exploring Exuma During Our Stay at Sandals Emerald Bay - July 2022
zhlédnutí 1,8KPřed rokem
We visited Sandals Emerald Bay on the beautiful island of Exuma in July of 2022. The island is beautiful, easy to navigate, and there is so much to see and do! We took an excursion with Island Routes and explored a massive sand bar, snorkeled in the Moriah Sea Park, saw sea turtles in Hoopers Bay. We also rented a car for a day and drove ourselves around the island... it was intimidating at fir...
Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma, Bahamas Walkthrough and Review

We visited Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma, Bahamas in July of 2022. It was a nice change from Jamaica and we had a wonderful time. The island is absolutely gorgeous and we loved the resort. The water was rough our entire trip so we didn't get to enjoy the ocean as much as we usually would like to, but the breeze on the resort was beautiful. Sorry for all the wind noise in the background! I forgot...

Glass bottom boat tour at Couples Swept Away
Great video, we are going to CSA in July, what are some good things to bring and did y’all do any excursions off the resort? Did y’all do Club Mobay as well? Thank you!
Thanks! 🥰 Things to bring: - extra swimsuits and cover ups. The humidity keeps things from drying quickly - insulated cups and reusable straws for your drinks - towel clips for your chairs - packets/tablets for hydration - men need pants & closed toe shoes for Feathers We didn’t do any excursions. “Sand gravity” is very real there. lol we had all sorts of plans to go on excursions… but it’s so hard to leave that beach! Haha Some popular excursions in the area are Rastasafari and the little tiki boat that goes to Booby Cay. We always do Club MoBay for departure. On arrival, it really depends on the time and day your flight lands. They have new automated kiosks that really helped speed things up on arrival. If your flight is landing mid-late afternoon on a high-traffic day, I’d recommend getting Club MoBay just in case… but, if you’re going in July it’s probably already booked up. If you have Priority Pass you can pre-reserve the Club MoBay departure lounge for only $5 per person! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Do you have to reserve the Bali beds? Staying in Isla for the first time- I’ve only stayed in Cancun previously. Hope I don’t regret it!! Lol
Yes, the Bali beds have to be reserved. They were about $80/day if I remember correctly.
Is the food at the beach club ala carte or is it included in the all inclusive?
Yes! It is!
Once a place like this opens, the island is officially ruined. Hate it.
While I totally see what you’re saying, this resort isn’t your typical “all-inclusive” resort. It was small and quaint and didn’t have the AI vibe. I feel like it fit the vibe of Isla Mujeres well and didn’t ruin anything.
@@Dnatravelbrewsandreviews I made a mistake. I jumped the gun and thought you were talking about ‘Secrets’. My apologies.
@@ronelkins1057 No worries! I agree, Secrets resorts have a very different vibe and footprint.
I am always a little leery of resorts that offer "all inclusive" as an option. Any pitfalls?
The only pitfall we noticed is the drinks weren’t very high quality… they were fine, but we’ve had better at other all-inclusive resorts. The biggest thing for us was having to wait for them to bring us a $0.00 receipt to sign at the end of every meal. Sometimes it took a little while for them to come back with it.
Awesome place but the service has degraded since 2022.
We’ve been there in 2019, 2020, 2021, and twice in 2023. We’ve always had great service. We had one year when it was hard to get good service from the pool bar because people were breaking the rules and tipping bartenders and we weren’t… but that was the only time.
Thanks for your thorough video.
There's an error on minute 15:25", the Asian Restaurant is SATAY, not Sabor (which is the main restaurant, with the breakfast Buffet)
OMG! Thank you for the correction. I was super tired when I made this video so that doesn’t surprise me. I’m not sure there’s a way for me to fix it, unfortunately. 😅
I researched your CZcams channel for a few days. Your videos are awesome but due to some problems your videos are not ranking on CZcams's top and you don’t get more subscribers, views, and engagements. Can we have a short conversation about it? It will be for your CZcams channel's betterment to grow subscribers, views, and engagement 4x faster. How can I contact you?
Wow has lots of nececities 👍👌💪🏻
We are headed back to San Souci tomorrow. We've been there 7 or 8 times. We love the ability to feel at home all the staff.
Agreed! That’s one of the things that makes the Couples brand so special! They do a great job of retaining their employees! We’ve been to CSA 6 times now and have become friends with many of the staff members there. We always look forward to seeing them again ☺️
@@Dnatravelbrewsandreviews my wife and I go not for the nude beach but because it attracts so much of the guests over there the rest of the resort is not crowded. We are always able to get chairs and an umbrella at the main pool. We always book a or b bottom level.
@@Tommy.461 We appreciated that about CSS, as well! At CSA we have to get up early to get good spots on the beach and it was nice to not have to worry about that at CSS.
Please turn your phone sideways next time. It makes for a much better picture.
Thanks for the tip! I thought of that while putting together this video and made a mental note to remember to do that next time! 😅
@@Dnatravelbrewsandreviews been there a few times. It’s absolutely beautiful. Try the Sunset Beach if you go again!
"PromoSM"
The water at the sunset Beach is surrounded by a River very cold and refreshing theres sand to the river however the rest of the resort has beach the water on 7 mile Negril beach is much calmer and warmer because Ochi Rious is a very hilly part of Jamaica while Negril is lower part of the country. Negril is better for wheel chair access. Or those with mobility dynamics couples resorts also includes Airport transfers to and from their resorts with their arrival lounge at mobay airport to chillax before been taken to resorts.
Yes! We love Negril. We've stayed at Couples Swept Away 6 times now! Our next visit we plan to do a CN/CSA split stay. You just can't beat the Negril beach and the value offered by Couples Resorts!
This is our 2nd favourite place on Earth it has soo much sections to it that even when fully booked theres no shortage of loungers dining Areas or privacy those with mobility issues can still access the whole resorts by calling the transport to take you from one spot to another theres also a lift to take one to the mineral pool/Spa area
Yes! I completely agree! It never felt crowded and there were so many wonderful, private spots all over the resort! A great honeymoon destination, for sure. We never took advantage of the van to get around... we should've. haha Out of curiosity, if this is your 2nd favorite place on earth, what's your 1st?
Tiggle bitties
She’s super hot.
Nice video, This would be our last couples resort to go to. Just haven’t decided because of the stairs and I’ve heard the water on the beach isn’t the best?
The stairs are definitely a lot. Even for my husband and I who are fit and active… we got tired of them by the last day. The water and the beach are also not great, especially compared to the Negril resorts. The water is calm, but shallow and full of sea grass. The beach is very small. We did CSS as part of a split stay with CSA and it was perfect that way. We did 3 nights at CSS and 6 at CSA. Just try to avoid a Friday night at CSS because the dinner options are more limited due to the beach buffet they do that night. Couples coordinates the transportation between resorts for free, btw!
Is it normally that windy in July?
Sorry I never replied! I didn’t see this until just now. SEB is on the windward side of the island so it’s usually windy, but it was especially windy while we were there. Haha
Incredible video!!! Thank you so much!!!!! So you recommend July for travel? We have the 14-19 booked but want to do 7 days instead and will end up moving our dates to account for 7 days just don’t know what month yet…
For 2024
Left there today 6/24/23 and the bay is brown water with red flags up and no one is allowed out in the water, due to safety concerns.
We loved July! It was windy and the waters were rough, but it was great! Sunny and comfortable, not too hot. We were told by employees that it’s not uncommon for it to be windy in July, but not common for it to be so windy for as many consecutive days as we experienced.
Omg!!! I think you may have calmed my nerves for booking here for next July. We have thought about moving it up in hopes for a less rainy season. It will be our first time and we want it to be the best experience. Had horrible rain in Royal Bahamian in April this year. Have been torn on what to do. My TA says anytime is a gamble on the weather and to avoid fall and late fall. What do you think?
So sorry for the delayed reply! I didn’t see your comment until just now. I do agree with your TA that the Caribbean can always be a gamble as far as weather goes, but we had fantastic weather in July! Very windy, but clear and no rain!
We are doing a split stay with San Souci this year and then plan to split CN and CSA next year so we can get a feel for all four resorts and then pick our favorites for any future trips. I am curious how long the transfer from CTI to CSA was for future reference. Thank you for sharing your experience.
We're actually hoping to do a CSS and CSA split stay this summer! We want to check out CSS but can't bring ourselves to go to Jamaica without going to CSA! The transfer was about 3 hours. We requested to leave at 8:30 and they coordinated a private car for us. We arrived at CSA around 11:30!
Can you take any excursions from there?
Sorry for the delayed reply! We were on vacation in Jamaica! Yes, there is a ton to do all around Exuma! You can check out the other video on my channel where I documented what we did while we were on the island!
Sweet vid!! Thanks for the info. Was it hard to get loungers either at the main pool or beach? And how was the wait times 😅n food and drinks?
Hi! Sorry for the delayed response… I didn’t see this comment until just now. It was hard to find shaded chairs by the pool, especially if we got there late. It wasn’t a huge issue at the beach, and I think most of that is due to the weather. We had red flags every day, so most everyone was by the pool rather than the ocean. Food and drinks were good… their specialty drinks were a little sweet/syrupy for my taste so I stuck mostly to rum & coke. As far as food goes, we really enjoyed the pizza, jerk shack, and Barefoot for seafood. Most of our dinners were good, but not great. Service was lacking, but that’s because we didn’t have a butler…. Butler guests received great service.
Can’t wait to go! April can’t get here fast enough! Where is everyone?
If you’re asking where everyone is in my video, they mostly weren’t up yet. Lol To respect privacy, I try to keep people out of my videos as much as possible so I intentionally wake up early to film so there usually isn’t anyone around. ☺️
How do you feel Swept Away compared to Tower Isle?
Hi! It’s so hard… they each have their own pros and cons. For us, beach is #1 priority so for that reason, we prefer CSA. The pool at CTI was nicer, there was more to do in the way of excursions, and we preferred their non-reservation a la carte restaurant The Verandah over CSA’s Patois, but we prefer the rest of the food at CSA overall. We also loved the view from our room at CTI and the breeze that kept us comfortable, whereas the patios at CSA are usually too hot & humid. Overall, none of these pros beat out the CSA beach, though, so CSA is still our favorite. Hope this helps!
Great video showing the layout of the resort. I enjoyed it very much, looks like a very nice place.
Glad you enjoyed it! It is a piece of paradise, that's for sure!
