Try that after riding in Georgia across Georgia 500 miles two weeks before Wisconsin coming from Virginia cycling 600 miles 8 day all in the month of June 19 86 thru 2018. That’s just June then onto July and Iowa cycling from the Mississippi to the start of ragbrai across Iowa to the Mississippi then up to Minnesota for 500 mile 7 day averaging 8,000 miles a year for 45 years over 360 -across state bicycles rides, 500 mile events good job though keep track of your miles, maybe you’ll catch up with me I just cross the 300,250 miles 55 years of cycling 18 country’s, 47 states just think you have 46 more states to ride.

Self-sabotage

11:51 head game or game space? At the seven races I did this year, I kind of felt my head was not 100% in the game. I was having a fair amount of hesitation grabbing wheels and I couldn't figure out why. That hesitation contributed to me getting dropped and laughed more than once in these races. Have a local race tomorrow, maybe I got my head back on straight now.

3:58 after the race at Mount Pleasant I was so hungry I actually stopped at Burger King and got two Whopper Juniors and a medium fry, I haven't gotten anything from Burger King in like probably 8 years 😀😃.

*I noticed Masters are more likely to ride rim brakes than the Seniors.* Older guys are just not as swayed by Specialized like younger guys are.

I don't think I've ever done a faster Shorewood Crit. I finished with a 29.1 avg speed. I was gassed the whole time just sitting on the back.

9:28 totally the same. Cycling has its own vernacular 🤓. ToAD was crap for me this year for a number of reasons, not just the categories.... i've had good races away from ToAD, then i come to ToAD and suck 😀. I like to say cycling is a bottomless pit of both joy and despair 🙂.

In the 3/4s we started at 2:25 and OMG was Mt Plesent hot 🥵. I was gapped in turn 2 and stuck my head into the strong wind.... got dropped 😊. That was my last race for this year's ToAD. 6 DNFs and 1 OTB finish, 3/4s with juniors were fast, too fast for me 🙂. A lot to think about for if i'll do ToAD next year, especially if it is 3/4 together again Local race Sunday for me. I am thinking of doing Indy in a few weeks.... there it is 4/5 and they have a masters 4/5, so the odd will be a bit more even. So i could do four races in two days at Indy 😎... we will see.

Good to see you - might race Downers in the Masters

I just did the Rock Island from KC to Windsor and the Katy from Windsor to Sedalia. It all pretty much SUCKED. The Rock was too sandy and it took WAY more effort to pedal than it should have. Also zero services from Lees's Summit all the way to Windsor. NOTHING for 59 miles. The scenery on the Rock is just flat farmers fields and open land. The Katy trail surface was marginally better but horrifically boring. I bailed in Sedalia and jumped on the Amtrak back to my car in STL. From there I drove to Pittsburgh and rode the wonderful GAP Trail again!

I'm hoping to also do Indie this year, because it's in the midwest as well, but the way I'm burning through money to get just a toad, we're going to have to see if that actually happens I might come home from toad owing a lot money 🙂. Snake alley and that whole Quad Cities races Memorial Day weekend I would like to do as well, although for it's about an 7 hour drive 🙂... So that's a whole vacation day spent jusr driving there and another whole vacation day spent jusr driving home 🙂. I didn't do it this year, maybe next year, I did just start a new job so haven't accumulated all the vacation time yet...

I will also be at dairyland. although I signed up for the early races. Right now I am signed up for the 13th to the 19th in the cat 3/4s. We'll see how I feel by the time we get closer to the 19th if I want to add another race or two. I actually would prefer to do masters, but I only hold a cat 4 license. I hope to meet you this year, I was watching your videos when I was at Dairyland last year. I also want to meet Claudio, another cycling CZcamsr I follow, he's supposed to be at toad as well

Just ordered your back bottle, trying to find alternatives to wearing my vest for ultra distance races (it just seems to pull extra sweat from me, no bueno! and I've been liking no vest riding) - found this channel that way! Hopefully it will stay on rough terrain in MTB too? I primarily do XC MTB :)
