The smell was the Sargassum, which unfortunately is wrecking havoc on the Yucatan in the last 10 years. When it gets onto the sand it dries out, and it leaves that rotten eggs/poop smell.

People are reminded MULTIPLE times in MULTIPLE ways what time to be back and that the time is based on ship time and not on local time. My wife and I always make it a point to be back at least 2-3 hours before all aboard. If we have to be back by 3:00 we make sure we are back NO LATER then 1:00. Also, if they say be back BY 3:00pm, they MEAN 3:00 pm. Not 3:30. Not 4:00. Not whenever you feel like it. HOWEVER, if you book an excursion through the cruise line and it’s running late, the ship will wait for you and the ship is in constant contact with the operators of said excursion. This only applies if booked through the cruise line and not a third party excursion.

We're on the Ascent/Retreat in a few months and I've been watching your videos. Very helpful. At what point do you notify someone that you're booked for a retreat cruise? At 9:00 you went from one person to being escorted to the retreat line by another.

if you missed out on a cruise, you didn't miss out on anything and ocean life thanks you for that. The sewage wastewater is pumped into the ocean. Every time you poop on a cruise you pollute the ocean. Poop feeds the red algae blooms and bacteria killing wildlife

I lived in beacon for years and this is definitely not the Hudson River.. but beacon is absolutely beautiful in the winter.

And yet, that cruise ship will stop in the open waters, delaying thousands of cruisers, send out a rescue boat for 50 illegals on a small boat and onboard them, keep them in the hospital, transport them to the next port, and even ask for donations over the PA for their legal fees and medical expenses upon entry to a new city. I know they are obligated by the SOS rules of the sea, but the immigrants have been doing this trick for decades.

I am a 10 AM exercise class, and the same 6 people are 5 to 15 minutes late every time. All of them live nearby. Being late is a choice, and it disrupts others.

I can only presume that the first couple left their kids in one of the onboard daycares/kids clubs or family while they went ashore. That’s the only reason I could square this scenario.

Tom, great job on the video and analysis. We are booked for an Aqua class cabin on the Ascent for next winter. You mentioned that the basic drink package comes with the cost of the cabin. Is that always the case, or does it depend on your deal? We booked directly with Celebrity and we did not get any drink package...although there's been a lot of flash sales on upgrading. Thanks

I've worked the tourist industry in Ketchikan, AK for two seasons and Pier Runners are freaking hilarious. 🤣😂 They're always like "OMG HOW COULD THEY LEAVE WITHOUT ME!?"

We just got back. Paradise on earth !!!!! The adults all inclusive is worth every penny. The food was amazing all day the drinks and the calming sounds they play theough the speakers. I hope to go back asap!!!!!! The dolphins were also free to see and were beautiful. Water is gorgeous!!!!!

Everything you said is EXACTLY what we encountered on the NCL Getaway. The food was minimal, cheap, and lacked variety. We have been on RCL, Princess, and Carnival and NCL had the worst food out of any of them. We missed having dining open at all hours too. Want an ice cream or pizza at 11 pm? Tough luck. Considering that NCL is supposed to be a step above the budget lines this was a surprise. Overall we couldn't find the value for the cost in NCL and only a good itinerary made it worthwhile. I'm also tired of people excusing everything on covid. It's been four years now.

It was the same on the Getaway. NCL was such a disappointment compared to other cruise lines we've been on.

Cruise food has gone downhill since covid. Our last meal on NCL in osheenans was a mediocre burger and cold fries. Left a really bad taste in our mouths. Your food looks similar to what we've gotten on RCL and nowadays the bar is very low. 😢

I was hoping NCL's food was just temporarily bad because of Covid, which is what they told us a couple years ago. In years past it was like high end dining every night in the included restaurants. Plus they had the grill going by the pool where you could get steaks, ribs etc. Last cruise on the Epic was awful. I got served a breaded fish that was like Gorton's. I sent it back and asked for the chicken and it was worse than Banquet TV dinners. The server told me they had pre-prepared frozen dinners due to supply chain issues because of Covid. It seems they are just cutting costs while raising their prices.

I quit cruises in 2013. The new large boats carry so many people it's now affordable for those with no business being there.

How does someone call the ship? When you call a cruise line it's only the cruise selling agents answering the phones

If you are the type of person who is always late for work or functions... maybe you shouldn't go on a cruise.

There was one older couple that left a note in their room for the captain , that stated they would be 2 hours late because they had so much planned they wouldn't be able to get back on time.......they showed up at the pier 1.5 hours after the ship left and they were furious that the captain didn't wait for them after they told him they would be late...LOL, people......

I know people who have been one cruises and they say people think it's some type of game and they don't take the leave behind policy is a real thing. Its almost like being fashionably late.
