Finding an Abruzzo Sword - Medieval Review
For anybody finding this looking for ways to paint their own masks: in my experience metallic sharpie shows up REALLY well on masks! If your design can look nice with silver/gold, you can probably just hand draw it on with a sharpie! This spray painting method also works really well too, it's just a bit more labor intensive. I've used both methods and they're both good, just depends on the colors you want and complexity of your design.
Are you interested in Japanese swords?
@@user-ws1ju2bb8j sure, and I have some, but generally speaking I focus more of European swords.
This sword has been good to me aswell as the albion feder.strong as fuck indeed.i used this against my friends hanwei longsword and it does destroy weaker blades over time yet my friends blade did not snap.his was a good blade for the price.now its a saw blade pretty much.
A CZcamsr I was watching said it’s like build a bear for men
The intro made me realize you know your stuff. Btw are those supposed to be Guinevere and Lancelot?
Great vid! And beautiful sword, def looks battle ready.
Do you even sword bro… 🤑 ps, if you make a video wearing every single one of those blades a la “tacti-cool” style you will win the internet
@@nzahara I don't have enough straps for that. 😂
I heard that the edges on the ricasso are sharp even if you wear gloves. Is there any truth in this?
Snob.
I have this room tour on my list of favourite room tours on CZcams! Absolutely love this stuff. I’m curious as to why you went in a different direction with your more recent content? Like I said though this video and your passion for swords and medieval period is admirable.
Is it true that there's a giant "made in India" stamping on the blade? That's genuinely a deal breaker
What makes that sword beautiful is its simplicity. Its a tool for killing. Basic, unadorned and fit for purpose.
all claidheamh mor (claymore) means is "big sword", so this is a claidheamh mor, maybe even a glaidheamh gle mor
Starts at 900... Omg .. I don't see any for less than 1200
Prices have got up in the past 6 years.
The situation is even worse with browser games. For example: Ubisoft created the game in Tom Clancy’s IP “Ghost recon: Commander”. It was available via the Facebook and had some parts of the lore. But it lasted for just 6 months in 2012. And there are no files of the game, because nothing was ever downloaded.
Browser games could have been downloaded to an extent, the part that breaks is anything server side. Is why always online games are a bad idea for game preservation, and only if a dedicated fan is willing to reverse engineer server code and make a server will it ever be available again. See what happened with the Lego MMO for a positive example of this kind of thing happening.
Guns ruined everything
This is awesome! I'm going to print some for my group, thanks!
Why Arthur is so weak in the lore tho
I love that Luxury Sword, I want to become a American Swordsman as an Superhero.
why do they call it chainmail instead of mail
I have this sword and it is top quality for the price and came as sharp as a razor it has excellent balance and the quillon is large wich i prefer.
I dont like the 3 curls on the ends of the crossgaurd. Any more than 1 i feel is asking to catch on clothes.
It's a little different in England. The first son would inherit all the titles, property, possessions and wealth that was part of the entailed Estate(s). The second son would be expected to go into the military and would be bought a Commission. It was the third son here that would go into the church. If it was a reasonably wealthy Estate the second and third sons might each be offered an unentailed Estate.
Spain AND Portugal!
Thank you for not testing. It was very interesting 😀
Here on a journey to rewatch, like, and comment on all of Shad's videos to increase his engagement and get the channel back up and running smoothly again. I think this counts too, so here's some full engagement.
I thought I just saw Mr Annoying Shadwell did my eyes deceive me.
I like your review I know it's quite old but I just thought I'd mention that the cold Steelers are about the best production-wise price wise matched to that now and there's some really nice ones from windlass steelcraft 2 on crippled and I use one every day
Is that sewing machine oil that you're using
The scabbard is lacking the hook necessary to hold it in the rapier carrier.
And how did that go when the murdering raping English had a go at taking Scotland, oh that's right so called best army in the world was initiated 3-1 still a joke today
Just found your channel. Great review of this beautiful stiletto. I too love these lethal blades. I portray Contessa Catarina Sforza in a historical theater guild. Our ensemble cast tries to keep everything within the time period of 1470 to 1500. I'm looking for an appropriate stiletto dagger ... around 13" or so. This one might be a little fancy for the Contessa. Do you any suggestions ? We're based in the U.S.
I suggest doing a search on Kult of Athena, for such a dagger. My guess is that if you are looking for costume grade, a lot of options from a manufacturer like Depeeka.
@@medievalreview yes ... a costume prop. I found Only of Athena online. They have some very nice daggers and I'm checking them out. Thanks!
A rapier Chevalier d’Andrieux would have worn.
Has anyone posted databases of historical or reproduction weapons that they have measured and entered into this tool?
I have been wanting to buy this sword for my wedding but they ran out of stock on the website I had it saved on. I tried looking on Kult of Athena, and was thrilled to find it! That's where I found this video linked, and it really sealed the deal for me. I really appreciate your content, and I am excited to be ordering this sword now, in part thanks to this video!
nevermind, just found out it's backordered :')
@@alisonwright299 www.museumreplicas.com/the-suontaka-viking-sword is the primary reseller and they say it is in stock.
@@medievalreview Thanks! I found it there, ordered it, and received it recently. It's such a beautiful sword and the blade is sharper than I even expected. I can't wait to use this for my wedding :)
@@alisonwright299 Awesome, glad I could help! Congratulations on getting married!
More medieval content, please!
I suspect another advantage of the forward curve is to increase the pressure as eh weapon cuts across the target. tests should be made!
Do you think that a fishtail pommel works for gripping the pommel on a longsword?
biggest problem putting down $2200 for a Maximilian then waiting 2 years, if they go under while your waiting how do you get your money back???
I don't know what the heck he's talking about but this sword is beyond perfect, a real battle ready sword with perfect balance and comes with a kings edge on it. This sword was accidentally released i would bet on it. But i am no one who would know.
Thanks for doing these reviews, they are great for someone who knows nothing about swords! Would you be able to share that great picture reference you used of the evolution of medieval armour / swords? Also is there a similar sword (xviiib) with an interesting pommel that you would recommend over this one? Mainly due to the grip issues you mentioned?
This the one you are asking about: commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Evolution_of_swords.jpg. I'm sure there are similar swords of this topology, but I don't have any to reference for you at the moment.
Thank you :)
Wow what this Thomas😮
God bless your wife
You could get scented oil from Japan. I highly recommend that it's not that expensive and use it like the Japanese. Did their swords just so you know hope this helps
In the year 40,000 they have "powered armor" its a small nuclear reactor that powers fiber bundles to act as a 2nd muscle. It makes the wearer invulnerable to almost everything, including Lazer guns.
Is anyone can help me find the book? or just send me photos of the book? The Art of E Blair Leighton by Alfred Yockney Thanks for saving me 🥰🥰🥰
Who did you get that Roman gladius from? That is very nice
A bastard sword.
To me battle ready means, if zombies attack can it take off heads without glinting or breaking
