    I just got a Garmin 923xsv + Gt51m-tm and have never used it because I'm still abroad, my question is whether this unit can see fish on the seabed at a depth of 100 to 130m.

    Really great test. I’m looking to purchase TM265LM transducer which compatible with these 3 units : 1- Lowrance HDS7 Live (9 pin) two sonar ports “black & blue” 2- Garmin GPSMAP 547XS (8 pin) one sonar port 3- Garmin GPSMAP 743XSV (12 pin) one sonar port I understood TM265LM transducer has two sonar connectors. One for Medium frequency chirp & second for Low frequency chirp. I believe The TM265LM Transducer I can plug in directly to Lowrance HDS7 Live because its has two ports for work dual channels. But How I can plug TM265LM TO GARMIN GPSMAP 547xs & 743xsv for work dual frequency (Low&Medium chirp) note that my Garmin units have single port. Hope you to advise me which cables or adapters should I purchase to work with all three units If I would to use one of them.

    Very nice, clear tutorial. The Garmin manual does not explain the depth offset very well. In most parts of the World the datum is Lowest Astronomical Tide, so the offset is depth of water (read off tide function on your GPS).

      Yep. You'll need an 8 pin adapter box. And depending on the software version, you may need to not connect the Xid wire and manually select B175L as the transducer type.

    Hi, this is a great test... Now i'm purchasing a GPSMAP 7408 and i want to put a TM 265 LH and a GT 51. I would like to ask you if is possible to run both transducers at the same time .... thank you, have good time on the sea :)

    • @BayMarineElectronics
      @BayMarineElectronics Před 8 lety

      +Davide What we normally do is hook up the TM265 through an 8 pin adapter box - just the low frequency, and use the 12 pin socket with the GT51. Then you can use the GT51 for shallow water use - up to 150M or so, and the TM265 for the deeper stuff.

    • @91KillerGod
      @91KillerGod Před 8 lety

      +BayMarineElectronics Thank you very much for the answer. I didn't know that i needed an 8 pin adapter for hook up the transducers. But i didn't understand one thing, if in case i want to use the TM265 even for shallow water, ( cause of the better resolution than the GT51), can i switch to an high chirp frequency?

    • @BayMarineElectronics
      @BayMarineElectronics Před 8 lety

      +Davide Normally the TM265 would be connected to the GPSMAP 7408 unit through the 12 pin socket. This allows you to connect both the high frequency and the low frequecy wires, but it uses the 12 pin socket, so you can't plug in the GT51. To get around this, we use the 8 pin socket, which you can hook up one frequency from the TM265, but not both. The GT51 is excellent for very shallow water use due to its wider beam width than the TM265, and the resolution is very good also. The TM265 High frequency is actually slightly better for medium depths - say 50M to 200M due to its narrower beamwidth, but both work very well from 20 to 150M
