Coming back to this after seeing much of the same reckless driving and selfish behavior from chasers in the April 26-28 outbreak. Many of them running red lights, passing on blind uphills, and saying running stop signs makes them the “best chaser”. I’m worried this will happen again, lots of people are even defending the chasers who run stop signs.

My Beofeng fill cable isn't working with the KG-UV3D. I keep getting a memory read error with the model you select. It doesn't work with the Wouxon fill software either. I've read on Powerwerx's website that you now need a red fill cable with the newer versions of windows. Weird as my Beofeng still works with the cable. I hope the memory is corrupt. The radio won't kurchunk the repeater in channel mode either. Works in frequency mode. Thanks

Enjoyed the video as I have never been to Hamcation. I agree with another poster that FT-8 has taken over the bands. Rare to hear CQ, phone Q's last about 5 minutes unless it's a Net. I am not a Contest operator never was but they do populate the Bands. Emcomm, well when the SHTF it's the guy sitting in his shack mic in hand passing traffic. Vara, Packet, All Star etc, all good until an emergency then most forget how to use them! Been a Ham almost 50 years, 25 in Public Safety Radio with a large police agency. 73

I was a ham in high school and college. Started with WN2FCE. While in college I became a first aider before the EMT status. I was elevated to Crew Chief and was in charge of the radio for 40 years. All for free. When I retired from everything and the lock down came, I got reacquainted with Ham radio and made to Extra Class. K2QXQ. Now I find myself lost in new technology. Once I built my own stuff now I am having a hard time at 77 learning from vacuum tubes to those little chips. I like ICOM. But it is a struggle. My Elmer in high school was Marty Kaiser. He was my Tesla. I wish I could sit in classes at Trenton State. TCNJ. I don’t need another degree. I just want to be a student again. RWB ❤🎉

I wish we had Hamfest events this large in the UK. Ours are pretty much all half day or one day events ..

My first radio was a Hallicrafters S38 given to me by my Dad. It was replaced by a Hammarlund HQ-129X I bought at Dayton.

The Weather Channel should hire only Trained Licensed Storm Chasers with Medical Experience. As for driving 90 to 100 miles an hour just to film a Tornado in my opinion is the stupidest thing a person could ever do. It's a shame that a person had to be killed from someone who was not a Licensed Storm Chaser. Therefore this person should have been arrested for driving over the speed limit and wreakless driving. That accident should have taught him a lesson. Also if this guy didn't have any ID that proved that he actually worked for The Weather Channel then that also should serve purpose for some type of fine. Because he lied to the people who he helped talk to The Weather Channel. Not only did he run all those Stop signs and those Traffic lights, he also put those 2 people in the back seat of his vehicle in danger from the way he was driving. I'm sorry for what I am about to say but I think this guy should have his Driver's License taken from him. Because who knows if he may end up doing that again. That's my opinion and if I were a Police Officer that's what I would have done on the day of the accident. Right there at that moment.

Is there a way to make this radio enunciate the channel names instead of the channel numbers?

I have a friend who owns one of these and is blind. He was just license and I programmed in a few of the local repeaters for him but I am not able to make it enunciate the channel names instead of the channel numbers. So that he will not have to memorize which channel number means which repeater, is there a way to make it tell him?

I stopped watching TWC when they got caught doing some "CNN style fake news", involving Jim Cantore doing live hurricane coverage in the "storm surge" that was actually a drainage ditch! Pretending that it was really windy, as a couple teenagers stroll by riding skateboards like it was just another day... there was no major flooding, they had to resort to getting in a storm drain to create the story, and pretend it was windy on top of that. Only to look like clowns as their bullshit was revealed by a couple skater kids ! That day, they became the CNN of Weather broadcasting. Just another fake news shit show! Honestly this story here does not surprise me at all. Seem's like the type of scumbag behavior you would expect from a place that would fake the story, why not endanger the public too while you are at it... Anything to get the scoop, Right! They have no morals, and I hope they have to pay up to the family of the young man that didn't deserve to die because of idiots breaking laws to get their masters some footage that is mediocre at best. Lol. Shoulda just paid Pecos Hank instead. He has morals though, and gets better videos, without being a danger to those around him. He is cool no matter how crazy it gets out there...
