Have to ask - for method 1, when applying the Ardcoat and the mordant earth, did you allow the prior layer to dry completely or apply 1 after the other (as in did the glue dry before the ard coat and then the ard coat before the Mordant Earth)

I feel like priming the base white/gray first would help a little with the depth on the Hack vs Product, with the blend you don't notice the black as much so it's not as jarring. Great video though!

This video is fantastic -- and who better to give advice than a surgeon who paints minis! I was thinking Optical Loupe lenses would be best for minis because of the focal length and posture ramifications. I appreciate hearing 2.5x works best for you -- that will guide my single-lens loupe purchase.

Thanks for your video, I bought the paint but it doesnt look so good, the cracks are kind of small. I am not putting a glue layer in between the paint and the cracked earth paint. Yours looks so natural, thanks again for the video.

Why use the white glue if there's a layer of ardcoat going over it? Could you just use ardcoat?

Hi, What are you using for your painting palette?

I just started using Speed Paint 2.0 and I love it! I would say I'm a novice / casual painter - maybe one or two times a year I'll paint the minis to a board game. With Speed Paint I base coat, dry brush and then paint one coat. All the depth & details and done. No more washes, black outlining or highlights. My minis have gone from "ok" to "Wow!" just by changing to this product. (This probably sounds like a commercial, but I'm just excited about painting for the first time. It's no longer a chore.)

Can I use plastic glue for the minis? Is the surface strong enough?

I am debating between using the terrain paste method with some resin to make water bases, or going with lava. The terrain paste look might also be super nice with the crackle paint down the middle too! So many choices.

You use terrain paste, i use greenstuff. We are not the same. ;D

How would it work/look if you did the first coat with the Mephiston red, and then do the second coat in the blood angels red? Seems like you would get the best of both worlds by doing that?

Hey, I have the new Khorn army and I want to try the first paint technique on the base and going up the legs of the models. Do you think that's possible? almost like they are coming out of the ground or attached to it.

Idk if the contrast paints are better now, but I never had any of the issues he has. I literally primed white, and did red, blue, green, and yellow so far and omg most beautiful paint jobs I’ve ever done. The yellow was staggering
