I came here thinking the same and feeling a bit crazy looking at the rest of the comments. I am glad so many people are so close to their dads, but it is easy to stew in resentment, when really they are looking back at beautiful memories. My dad showed me this song all the time when growing up. We would even say goodnight by giving each other "butterfly kisses" where we would kiss our hands and flap them towards each other. Looking back, I don't recognize who that man was. I don't think he ever existed in the way I saw him as a kid. And this year on Father's Day, I just want to remember a time where it felt like he loved me. I don't know what you're going through, or if it's even Father's Day where you live. But you got through the hardship then, and you'll get through your hardship now.
