Yeah, that was good day, slip bobber with a leech in the summer in the northwoods work good off island points, submerged, and deep weed edges are a good place to start. Rock river in your area casting stick baits like the original rapala and storm thunder sticks work well, along with grub style plastics with jig head, weed less style jig heads might work better, you loose some but not as many as the regular jig head. Pretty much any area having current, gravel and sand would be a good start. Dams have fish, but there will be crowds, but if you outside of weekends pressure should be less.

Right or left doesn't matter. Every boat is different. You need to keep the hull ribs in mind too.

@@RedBeardedPredators got another question....Could I just hook it up to my fuse panel and use a 3mp fuse? Fuse panel has an extra circuit I could use my only hesitation on connecting to it would be possibly losing all my setting every time I turn off the main power switch to the fuse panel.Basically do they require constant power to not lose settings(direct connection to battery)?
