Very similar climate to you, I've been growing some "sweet chili peppers" with seeds I saved from supermarket, the ones that survived transplantation are a little more stunted than yours, but we've not had a very hot or bright year.

Also pruning can cause overly bushy peppers, which isnt as sun efficient

Im in 9b and mine are finally ready to start getting bigger. Thai plants already have like 50 flowers and my fresno are popping off too. One giant fresno pepper outta nowhere 😂

So glad I found your channel! This is my first year trying to grow peppers. Mine started growing a bell pepper in May, and I was so excited, I let it grow. I stumbled across your channel when I was trying to figure out why my plant was still so small! After two of your videos, I pruned the pepper and repotted the plant. Be careful with straw and hay. Roundup survives a long time. Same w commercial manure. Theyre regularly fed roundup feed and it passes thru. I like tractor supply fine pine shaving s. Cedar even better

I moved my pepper children from their seedling pots into raised beds and they are already looking Very Sad. :( I hope they recover while I watch videos about others doing better.

Watching this while hands were burning, my wife took over. Massage hands and fingers with olive/vegetable oil for 5 to 10 mins. Massage oily hands with bicarbonate. Done.

thing with hydroponic is, you are once again bound to manufacturers of those nutrients, so you have to go out buy stuff and trust that its actually good for you... no thank you

I've tried everything i can think of and my peppers still won't grow they are growing in a raised garden in Virginia planted them about 2nd week of may ive tried different soil watering more and less they just are not growing they are only about 8 inches tall still

My pepper plants never die! Turns out they are actually a tree! I bring them in every fall and winter select varieties indoors under lights and enjoy fruit all year. I trim them back in very late winter so they are ready for new spring growth. Without the trim they just get enormous and much to heavy to drag in and out without using a dolly.

My peppers are setting fruit i started them indoors in February they're abt 30-35 cm

Never trusted Miracle Gro products. To many shady dealings and the slow release fertilizer is sketchy af.

I put my starts in direct sunlight all day then brought them inside in the evening because the nights were in the 50s and they germinated faster than the papers that stayed outside.

German here, California Wonder bell pepper has never worked out for me here either. On the other hand Jalapeño and Pimentos de Padrón produce like craaazy

Go buy you super expensive soil. Lol they got you all. I have been a grower for 20+ years. Nothing better than the compost with bark pieces. I use the ground mix with chicken shit, and fish guts. Bark, dead leaves, everything. Guess what my 15 foot monsters have never complained. 10 years of the same shiiiiit. Buy the expensive everyone. I laugh at city growers.

It must be nitrogen deficiency then and maybe a bit overwatering.

It's cheapper to buy worms and make worm tra and castings thrm buying this fertilizer. Guys nitrogen is in rain water and in the air. Break up your soil and nitrogen will go to the ground. Nitrogen can be put in ground by beans and peas. Never buy fertilizers which create salts in your soils. Salts that will kill your soil.

According this guy, the cause can be anything. Soooo "informative". And shows his face more than the plants in his video.

I can understand the reasons for using pots to contain plant growth. However, I think pots can be more effort that they are worth. Having to remove old soil and replenish it ever year, risking transplant shock or even losing the plant. The jury is still out on the actual benefits of just having a plant in the ground verses in a pot.

I’m a newbie and my pepper plant is almost done fruiting. They are almost all yellow. My question is will it fruit again? I live in CA and we still have several months of warm weather. Anything I should do to get it going or should I just cut back and overwinter it?

Mine are little bigger than yours but I plant them on new years eve 2023. They are outside for 3 weeks now (apartment balcony) in Eastern Europe but we have a lot of rain in May and not so much sun. All 3 of my last year plants survived and this year I'm having like 6 or 7 pots with some different varieties. Have you tried the Bulgarian Carrot pepper?

Could possibly use a bit of hydrogen peroxide in the water. It's h2o2, has that extra oxygen atom. For plants that like high oxygen via roots.
