Mate this is actually ridiculously awesome. I found this cos I specifically looked up “oberland station settlement build” because i was so stumped with the uneven ground and small workspace i had no clue how to make it look good but man…idk how u did it but damn impressive bud

You use CC, but not the Settlement Ambush Kit… why? I swear, if that CC was rebranded as Settlement Defensive Kit, it’d be the 2nd most purchased CC behind the backpack.

Amazing building and designing job! The guard walkways above the market reminds me the ones at Nuka World. Well done! The lore friendly builds are the only interesting ones for me. I too will use the setting dictate the building materials. If the settlement is near railroad tracks (such as Oberland Station, Starlight Drive-in, Tenpines Bluff), then I'll allow myself to use the railway cars. If the settlement is near a vault (such as with Sanctuary) I'll allow some vault decorations and furniture (too pretty and clean otherwise to fit the more gritty Wasteland). I'll use fishing/nautical themes and decoration on settlements near water such as Taffington Boathouse, Kingsport Lighthouse, Egret Tours Marina, Nordhagen Beach...

The grass, branches, and other natural elements poking up through floors always dissuaded me from building in this game.

Love this build! I found the fiddle music joke in the show very funny. The music drives me up the wall but I love it somehow! Also great cockney accent. I can see it to be very fitting for a minuteman general (despite the country difference!)😄🇬🇧

My head canon for spawn points inside a settlement walls is that the attackers did a Trojan Horse, posing as settlers or traders until some idiot guard opened the gate without checking them! "Dammit Reg, how many times do I have to tell you to check their weapons *before* you open the gate?!"

That’s official I’m stealing some of these builds ideas now lol (side note I just started a week or 2 ago on fallout 4 for the first time and it’s been amazing 100 hours already and I’m not even done the story yet and the reason I’m playing is I’m about to watch the tv show soon so yeah enough yapping 😂)

This is amazing. Sorry I’ve only gotten back to Fallout 4 after years out, are these items only available on PC? Haven’t seen half of this in my workshop when building myself

Love your Castle build. Playing on console limits you to making the changes you add truly count. I play on PC, & my builds can be a mess. The light boxes are a great touch. I did something similar in Sanctuary, Red Rocket, & Abernathy Farm. I connected a siren to a fireworks mortar. Flipping on the siren turns on the launcher. When you arrive during an attack, the settlement is usually firing off fireworks to announce they're under assault & call for reinforcements. I built a shanty town to the north of the Castle. The reasoning was settlers would withdraw into the "keep" during an attack. Unfortunately, Fallout 4 settler NPCs swarm any attacker like angry bees. Glad to see I'm not the only one who uses a few settlements as recruitment/training centers. It is so much more simple to dispatch them where you want them rather than carrying arms & equipment to each settlement.

This is amazing. I just got fallout 4 and have been trying to rebuild this area.

You do not need to scrap guns. You can just store them in the workshop. Then you can remove them, drop them via the pipboy (one at a time), and then store them in the workshop in build mode again. Scrapping them works as well, but is not necessary..

I often build big forts like that too in most settlements. The only downside is the provisioners constantly gte stuck at the doors, super annoying. You need a big enough opening basically in the walls and a door isn't really big enough. Even though you constantly get cows inside buildings lol, typical Fallout 4. I once turned Abernaty farm into a real farm by capturing something like 10 or 20 cows :P
