I built a Telecaster!
zhlédnutí 394Před 11 měsíci
In this episode, I'm showing off the Telecaster that I built from scratch over the last 6 weeks. This was through a class offered by @spampinatoguitars where they led me and 3 other students through the process of building a Telecaster from scratch. It turned out great! It may not be perfect or a Masterbuilt, but it is unique and it is mine :) Spampinato's website: www.spampinatoguitars.com/ I ...
Audio Scape 76A and Opto compressors - Unbox and Workout
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed rokem
Today I'll be taking a look at a couple of compressors made in the USA by Audio Scape (or is it Audioscape?) Engineering. I'll look at the 76A Limiting Amplifier, which is a faithful clone of the famous 1176 (revision A) compressor from yesteryear. And I'll look at the Opto Leveling Amplifier, another faithful clone of the more-than-famous LA2A compressor. I'll go over the controls and features...
YHRS Vlog December 2022 - Legos and U87s
zhlédnutí 364Před rokem
Just saying hi and taking a look at a few new things around the studio, after a very inactive year in 2022. We'll take a look at a Lego Fender Stratocaster and Princeton amp, a couple of Neumann U87ai mics that I've been enjoying, a workstation invading my "play" room, and the TC Electronic Clarity M Stereo meter/monitor. Oh, and the Reverb shop where I got the great deal on the U87s is Metropo...
Replacing the 3-way toggle on my Hagstrom Viking
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed rokem
In this episode, I'll be trying something I've never done before: replacing the 3-way toggle switch on my 2020 Hagstrom Viking semi-hollow electric guitar. The switch was never great, even right out of the box. But over the last several months it went from annoying to unreliable to outright malfunctioning. So I'll break out the soldering iron and the solder, disconnect the old 3-way toggle, and...

oh my, this was HAUNTING me! thanks a lot. I was loosing my mind over this. also, I've seen a fix for this by rotating the array 90 degrees so the stereo field isn't body to neck, but top-down
I quite liked purchasing the Komplete audio 6 mk2 ❤
thx
can i use my KORG EK50 keyboard instead of guitar and staart recording my music ??? anyone help pls
Thank you so much!
haha thats crazy to see, I work at the company that produces the manuals in germany, we make thousands of them every year
If using the VLA, What settings do you recommend for strummed acoustic guitar?
What is the name of this reaper theme? I liked him.
Great video! Thanks so much for this review!!! For some reason, I like the Motu's preamps better. But when I listen to the audio playback, I hear the SSL sounding more defined, the instruments better placed in the mix, a more solid, wider, bigger stereo field, while the Motu sounds smaller, somewhat blurry, and with a thinner sound.
Subbed and liked 15 seconds in. Catchy tune. Hopefully this review is good
That looks awesome man!!! The excitement must be off the charts! Love the junior mints btw! Man after my own heart.
I forgot can i use this with Guitar Rig 5 without a DAW?
Great review! I have a question I'm a guitar player who uses Amp modeling software. Which would produce a "better" sound. better low end? I'm not recording anything, just practicing with my guitar. Thank you for posting this.
you are just amazing
can i use the behind output to my amp?
Thank you for breaking down how the power option affects headroom! I definitely see the same issues you described! I’ve debated whether I should get some extra pieces like DI boxes or preamps to help combat the headroom issue or maybe getting a auxiliary power supply but I think I’ve ultimately decided to get another interface altogether! Would you happen to know of a similar interface that doesn’t have issues with headroom? I play guitar on the bridge humbucker with considerable gain and the steinberg doesn’t handle it well at all haha
Compatible with the UMC404hd too?
Does not seem to work with UMC404HD :'( just tried installing it and it says installation timed out :'(
That was an amazing intro and demo for the SSL2+, which I bought yesterday. The sound quality is awesome and I think I had less trouble setting it up than you did, but not by much. I wasn't really looking for a guide, just info about the interface. But I found your vid to be entertaining and informative. Thanks for taking the time. SSL should use this video in their promotional ads 😄
now ..this is my kind of hands on review. You walk the walk man...awesome demo..
Are you able to hear the guitar with Amp sim or do you hear just the dry sound while you are listening to it? or do you hear the amp sim after you record it only?
GET TO THE POINT
I had almost lost my mind with this device, actually I thought I lost my mind...and finally got serious about it before throwing it away lol, and landed here;). Thanks brother.
Nice
The drivers seems to be gone on the website. Anyone got another link?
Very talented
Fantastic video and presentation. Informative, helpful and fun. 1 take too? No edits.. good job.
Great to see you are still around, man. Good luck in your new home!
Hey thanks, I'm looking forward to having it all done!
Wow that's gonna be great when it's all done!!!!
We're looking forward to it so much, I wish I could snap my fingers and have it all done already! *snap* Nope, still didn't work :D
Thnx for this awesome informative tutorial video it’s great for someone who knows nothing about this but willing to learn & u’ve definitely made it more liking & fun for me to know more. So, thnkQ again🙋🏻♂️🙏🙌🫡‼️
fantastic. Good luck with the house move and build. I am looking forward to more studio set up details and generally how to start from the very beginning. I have a spare room and its small. Office/studio desk/ wardrobe room. Any advice on what is needed to create at the beginning - Note: I have a fostex XR-5 cassette multi recorder and speakers and computer and audio interface.
Hey that's great, a new space is always exciting and full of new challenges! The thing I struggle with the most in a new space is simply "going for it" and making music instead of waiting until I get the next upgrade or improvement in place. I think that I've actually created my best (or at least favorite) music when working within constraints and limitations. So I'd say go for it, start creating, and learn as you go!
@@YHRS thanks very much ....... What Daw do you suggest for a beginner ?
@@kevinsavage7322 I'd suggest downloading demos for a few and mess around with them. There are so many to choose from, and they each have their own unique way of doing things. What types of things are you planning on recording? MIDI instruments, loops, live instruments, full bands? That might help narrow down the options, although there's hardly a bad choice out there.
Good to hear from you! I am also happy and excited for the new house! Seems great, you are living the dream! Please keep us updated whenever you can
Thanks! We're so happy to be doing this, although we're ready for it to be completed already. Patience is proving to be one of the hardest parts of the process!
No peach trees!
Indeed! It looks like we're going to be left to our own horticulture skills to grow the mandatory country peach trees.
I laughed at loud during the field trip reveal. You know, I moved from Colorado to Tulsa. I’m happy to be here. I like it. Enjoy this part of the world! Looking forward to seeing how things develop. :)
Oh nice, I grew up near Tulsa. It's a great area. I'm hoping to have good progress to show on the house build before too long. Cheers, and I hope you're staying cool this summer!
I agree, a Marshall full stack is part of a complete survival kit.
Definitely! They're just so light and portable :D
Nice, keep them updates rolling
Thanks, I'm hoping that we see more progress soon, so hopefully I'll have more updates before too long!
Haha, I would love a room as big as that!
I'm looking forward to it sooooo much! Did you ever get that loft conversion going for a drum room?
@@YHRS we’ve got the plans done by the architect and we’re hoping to start next year
@@JDODify Hey that's great, I hope you get a great play area out of the modifications!
@@YHRS I should get my construction drawings back in the next few days - start planning my space - I hope to at least have space for a E-kit in there.
Hope it doesn't flood in there!
With all of the rains since they dug that hole, it has spent most of its time as a pond! We should get power out there soon, so those sump pumps should keep it dry after that. I was considering stocking it with fish there for a while :D
Good to hear from you. Glad everything‘s going all right small town living is all right. I enjoy where I live here in Texas.
Hey thanks! I think that I'm coming to the realization that I was made for small-town living. This has been a very happy time in my life!
This is the best patchbay video I have ever seen. This one provides live examples on how to set it up. Thank you!
Anyone watching in 2024?
midi keyboard driver used midi connection?
I liked 1 and 5. I'm suprpised the first sample sounded that good.
thank you
So the insert loop grabs the signal before the preamp and runs the returned signal through the preamp? I want to run the line level outputs from my Virus B synth into the the 404HD with no additional processing. Would I just plug its L/R phone jacks straight into channels one and two on the UMC?
I bought a Motu 2 but was surprised and disappointed that the sound was nowhere near as good as my old car boot sale MBox 1. The Motu while quieter and maybe more refined, had its soundstage firmly in the centre and was not open at all, it was also not as balanced in the frequency spectrum as the MBox, having a defined scoop in the centre frequencies. I returned yhe product to Amazon and bought a used MBox 3, which sounded way better than the Motu but no better than the original Mbox 1
Very helpful thank you.
I just got this 22 interface and I am looking forward to playing through it. Can I connect up a UMC22 with the 404 Behringer interface? How do I go about connecting this up? Does someone have the answer as I cannot find the right you tube video at the moment. I don't want to give the UMC22 away just yet. Thanks for the video
I have akg k720 can i get louder sound on motu?thx
I spent 4 hours testing my audiophile setup with a calibrated mic and REW yesterday. Toeing in my speakers more than a little made my room phase cancilation issues worse ( and didnt effect top end or imaging). Irronically after 4 hours of measuments I ended up with exaclly the same 2 speaker placements that I had came up with just using my ears years ago ( the best placement requires the speakers to be 6 feet out into the room 😕)
Awesome job with this review man! Thank you!
