Coyote-Powered F100 Takes on Hot Rod Power Tour (First Road Trip After Custom Build!)
This 1969 Ford F100 is about to hit the road in style! Packing a potent Coyote engine and a custom chassis, it's gearing up for the epic Hot Rod Power Tour.
In this video, we'll join my dad and me as we prepare the truck for this week-long car cruise. It's all about getting everything in tip-top shape to conquer the miles ahead.
We'll show you the process, from checking fluids to final adjustments. It's a chance to see how a classic car gets prepped for a major road trip, and maybe learn some tips for your own project vehicle.

Just seen your ride outside of the movies in Newnan Ga. Sharp ride!
Envious 😂❤ congrats!
Great truck man, gonna have to start from the first vid.
Hell yeah. Feel free to give me constructive criticism in the comments.
Whats the verdict on this shifter 11 months later? I see one of the bigger coyote swap companies stopped selling them because of issues, which has made me question getting one.
I mean, it works. Rigging is a little bit of a challenge and it's pretty sloppy. I don't hate it but I'd change it out if a better option came to town.
Thanks for the reply, seems like its either this or the factory shifter which Im not a fan of the looks. As far as it being sloppy what issues have you had? Is it just sloppy install and looks or is it sloppy mechanicals, and function?
The feel of it is sloppy.
Glad you went with a coyote that's the right way to do it I would never put a Chevy motor in my Ford I would consider putting a Ford motor and a Chevy though
Yeah, Chevy wasn't an option. I almost had the old 392 rebuilt and almost bought an 460 to hop up, but ultimately went with the coyote for that modern reliability and maintenance simplicity.
How did u roll the rear fender
With a 22mm socket (I think).
I really like your truck man. Mine arrives soon and I can’t wait to start doing mods! Oh, I really like your music at the end. Your sense of humor is just like mine.
Hell yeah. What are you gonna do to yours?
First time viewing your truck. Looks great! Did I miss the part where you decided what to do with all the removed parts? Lots of restomod guys like me looking for stuff.
I gotta old guy locally that takes anything I don't want, sometimes he pays sometimes I just give em stuff. He sold me an original set of west Coast jr's for $20... Pretty dope.
if you get a flat how do you jack it up?
Good question. There are some square tube jack points. I made a part that inserts into those and joggles up so I could get a jack under it. I also made ramps to drive up on because a jack definitely doesn't fit even with good tires. I sold the car years ago though.
What a great video! I had an absolute blast! That truck ran without any issues!
Hate when my rear end blows out… 😂 1:02
Glad you guys had a good time! I heard it was better than Barrett-Jackson.
Me too. Best vacation I've ever had. Truck ran perfect the whole time. The next video will be the trip.
Cars~how u doing?,Yo~ total epic trip. have a good one~))
Jesus, bot much?
My passenger side one keeps flying off. It's pissing me off.
You get those clips on? Mine have not fallen off since... But the bumper did get ripped off.
I haven't gotten the clips yet. I just ordered my second pair of carbon fiber ones.
That’s a damn nice truck! I’ll have to keep an eye out for it during the trip.
Thanks man!
What shocks are you running to get the beam to lay on the floor? I have a beam and shocks from Airkewld but I’m a good inch from the floor completely aired out.
No shocks. It's a custom bag set up by a guy from Tennessee. I forget the name.
Bitchen , enjoy it and doing the power tour
Link to hinge guy is broken. So sad as I really need cost effective solution for my hood. Maybe you could publish key dimensions???
The link still works for me. It's an Instagram link. He's the_hinge_guy if you Google it. Definitely affordable quality.
Looks fantastic! Quite the project!
NICE DUDE!!! THOSE WHEELS REALLY SET IT OFF
I agree, but they're heavier than hell. Way heavier than the GT500 wheels.
Nice work
Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I am going to be doing the same thing in my Jeep.

Sorry. Sorry I did that to my car. I hope someday to have a car exactly like yours and everyone else's.
It's not a lowrider if it ain't on juice!
That's your opinion, but lucky for me, you don't make the rules.
Correct, I break them!!! Loving the ride though. Solid choice going with bags! Hydros nothing but a headache and way more Expensive.
She bought the car like that. I've never had hydraulics on a vehicle. I subscribed to lowrider mag as a kid and have always wanted a lowrider. If I built it, it would have hydraulics.
@@carscream1650 Yeah, I remember those days!!
can you make a vid on how you hang your tools on the wall?
I screwed 2x4s horizontal on the wall then screwed some peg board to that. Then got pegs for the tool. It's very simple.
Great Build!! Haven't decided to bag my Bumpsides Yet. Old School here. Enjoy your Toy!
Have you gotten to drive it with that shifter yet? I am doing a coyote swap on my 73 here soon and i want to use that exact shifter
Yeah. Shifter works fine.
imagine selling it and there was no reason to blurred out the price they go for 5k to 10k all day long
It was a LOT more than that. I was going through a divorce and didn't want to say the amount.
Sell it! I love swapin projects keeps you interested
Long sold, already driving the latest project.
What size tyres you have for the front, what profile?
I dont remember. I have a different video talking about the wheel and tire sizes I had on it. I sold it a couple years ago.
Awesome job man!!! Your truck looks beautiful. Ride height is still sick being a bit higher. It's all about parking it in the ground anyway. I just watched the every episode of the build, and you are giving me all the confidence to do one myself. Keep up the content, and I can't wait to see what you do next brother!!!
Thanks man!
When you measured 5” compressed is that from top of mount to bottom or just the bag sleeve itself.
I think I got whatever number off either the slam specialty's website or the Scotts hotrods instructions but I assume it's the whole bag overall.
That's cool! If I had the cash, I'd totally turn mine into an offloading christmas truck lol
Do it anyways!
She lo!
Man… I kind of like it raised a little… looks super cool. Thank you as well for showing us your screw ups… folks seldom do that… always nice to understand how complicated this stuff can be sometimes.
I like the look, but I liked it better lower. Kinda looked like it was floating. But it sure does drive 40 times better on the freeway.
Looks sick bro love to see the old stuff still on the he road 💪🔥
I Patrick McNeill and I uz and I live in Florida 😅🎉🎉
What?
That is called a sleeper. Perfect job.
Looks cool!
That outro.....
Good or bad?
I laughed. Then, my son used Spotify to find the song. We listened for a while!@@carscream1650
I gave credit to the song in the description.
Maybe its just me, but the exhaust tips being at different angles would drive me nuts.
They're under the truck. They don't look different viewed from above.
@@carscream1650 And the rust repair i just did to my C10 didnt need epoxy primer sprayed on the inside of the new outer rocker. But if i am going to do something, i will do it right.
Ok. You make an exhaust on jackstands In your garage, then post a video of it. You're comparing apples and oranges. Just because the tips aren't even up and down doesn't mean Its wrong. It's not a show truck.
Closing credits song is 10/10
Nice build! Where did those Adel clamps come from?
All the orange ones? Got em from the scrap bin at work.
I don't always comment on your videos but i can't help myself this time. Vice grip garage just did a custom exhaust on a drag & drive truck you should watch and listen to the 3 different systems. As for your stance I think it looks better not dragging the ground going down the road, lastly don't kick yourself for the wheel bearing issue, we all get excited about seeing the fruits of our labor but walk away with the expensive lesson of doing it right the 1st time, or measure twice & cut once mentally. You're not the kinda guy that does things half way, that's apparent. Just get yourself a whiteboard or a large cardboard piece for making list. And for god sakes man get a shed for all the lawn equipment & quit banging up your badass creation. Lol Love your content and that you have done so much on your own in the garage.
Thanks man! I saw his video with that shop truck. A bit above my budget to add 4 mufflers and all those cut outs. I've decided in flowmaster super 40s. They'll quiet it down a touch, cut the drone down and still sound like a beast.
Unfortunately, an absolute travesty to do this to a classic. Coyote 5.0ltr yes but lowering it looks terrible. Lot of work to make it look so bad.
You're right, how dare I treat this truck like my own. I should have made it look exactly like yours... Ya know, the fact that you hate is is one of the reasons I built it.
I just gave your reply to this comment a thumbs up. I don’t really like what you did to this truck but I do like that you built it the way you like it. It’s your truck.
In my opinion flow masters sound the best! Nothing sweeter than a Mustang on flow masters!
Yeah I think Imma do flowmaster super 44s because there quieter than the others and have less drone... No matter what, the trucks gonna be loud.
Almost done! Then what???!
There's still years of work left on this baby.
I know a guy with a ranchero that’s in need of some help.
@@seh91977 yup!!
Great engineered fixes!!
Ride height still low!!
Are you using the speed sensors in the transmission for your speedometer?
I'm using Dakota digital dash with a BIM plugged into the OBDii port for speed, tach, water temp...
Badass truck bro! I really want to get into this. The what are these oldie trucks called?
It's an F100.
@@carscream1650 duuuudddde no way!
I don't really know what you were looking for with your question.
