Slash vs C.C. DeVille
My dad and I have a long-standing argument about who’s the better guitarist: Slash or C.C. DeVille? The answer is obviously Slash, so I put together a compilation of some of their guitar solos from their respective bands, Guns N’ Roses and Poison in order to prove that I’m right. Enjoy, and be sure to let me know who you think is better! I might do more of these comparisons, so if you have any particular ones you want to see, let me know :)

CC is my fave. Love Slash too. It’s apples & oranges.
Slash is overrated. A legend for sure, but, 100% overrated.
CC all the way! Technically the much better guitarist ❤ And every single poison songs is much better than everything gnr ever did. Sorry to say but truth hurts

You cannot compare artists and their creations.
It's not that I hate slash, but no matter how great he is, he is very lucky to have joined GNR.. without slash, GNR would still be a big band, but not the other way around...

These are my 2 favorite guitarist. Can’t compare the two. They are BOTH AMAZING MUSICIANS PERIOD. Glad to have grown up with these two ROCKING AND ROLLING the soundtrack to my youth. DEFINITELY better than anything going these days. TAKE ME BACK TO YESTERDAY

My vote is CC...
CC for me, I love the tone he gets. That solo in I Won't Forget You is the sweetest solo ever, I wish it was longer. But because he was always too high he didn't reproduce the album solos live, he'd just shred in key and it was pretty bad, so Slash is probably better live. You also didn't include Velvet Revolver. Slash is better on those songs I think, Fall To Pieces, Slither, Gravedancer, Loving The Alien, he was still improving. Anyway thanks for putting this video together. 🙂 (P.S. Your Dad wins!! CC Deville forever!! 🙂)

@@kaitlyndeaner8293 You know I hadn't heard some of those songs, you introduced me to 'I Won't Forget You', so definitely thank you. Slash is fantastic, it doesn't matter who's better. On Gravedancer, I can hear that he'd been listening to Joe Satriani, it has some of that feel. The solo on Fall To Pieces is beautiful. They are both great. 🤩
Cc way better but they music was upbeat party band. To me his rifs had feelings i could feel music from that dye haur crazy jewish boy 😂.
I think what makes a lot of CC's solo's fun, energetic and interesting is he uses a lot of old school rockabilly stuff in his solo's. Something Slash doesn't give us, Slash to me is a chill guitarist that kind sits back in the pocket and is very blues based with his solos. CC in one solo can have rockabilly, blues, jazz and EVH type tapping/techniques. And it all comes together in a really cool melodic fun solo that works.

Cc is underrated because of being in a glam band. I love poison but cc could've fronted any band he wanted. Hes an amazing guitarist and this comes from a Randy Rhoads fanatic...

C.C. deville has the Edge I think on Slash .....C.C.s Solos are much more Elaborate......both Brillant but Sorry C.C. takes this one in my opinion !!
Really tough man...CC DeVille was the child in all of us, and his solos were memorable. Slash, had swag, and the swag showed in his guitar playing..Let's put it this way..They were the best at putting their personalities through the strings of their instruments. They never tried to be anyone else but themselves..
Ironic that Slash once auditioned to play lead guitar in Poison back in the club days. Can you imagine if that came to fruition?
CC THE BEST
Poison is a gaylord band. I dont even like Guns that much but thats mainly because of Axl. Slash is a way better player and more widely recognized as such.

Both amazing guitarist, CC plays with more feeling, Slash for that old school rock sound
So you don't even include the best solo of either guys career, and 2 of the best solos of the 80s-Life Goes on and Sweet Child O' Mine. Interesting.

These comments are absurd. Neither is underrated. There is no comparison. Slash is a much, much better player, far more melodic, far more interesting, much more aggressive.
They are both great guitarist, but like Billy Duffy, CC was under rated! I am just glad I was a teenager when all this wonderful music was born!
I have to give the edge to cc. I just think his solos have more pop sensibility to them and they flow better. Slash Is insanely talented as well, but he sort of jumps around and doesn’t string his Melodie’s together like cc does.

CC is the most underated guitar player of all time.
I like both of them. Have listened to both since they came out. I have seen both live. I now listen to Poison more than GNR. I would also rather see poison live than GNR.
I love slash, but there is something very beautifully strange and mesmerizing about C.C that's why he will always be my number one
for Poison, it was Slash 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just kidding, both are exceptional on their styles
