Big Hill Springs Provincial Park Fall | Journey Alberta
I explore Big Hill Springs Provincial Park in the fall season with my friend Jesse! We haven't been to this park since it was to have improvements made, including more picnic areas and some new trails! One of my favorite Provincial Parks to visit, I love the array of waterfalls here. This was shot just before we recently got hit with a blast of winter weather, I may try to get out there in the winter as well!

Welcome back to the channel, I'm exploring a section of the Bowbend trail today, located in Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park! This trail is pretty easy and with how the park is setup it can be tackled a few different ways or even extended. We opt to make a loop that cuts back through the Tiger Lily Loop trail, totally a couple hours out in the park. Subscribe for new videos coming every from Journ...

Great place to camp, I go all the time. Just an update though, as of 2021 you now need a PLUZ Land pass to camp. You can either buy a 3 day one or an annual pass. The 3 day is 20.00 per person over the age of 18. The annual is 30.00 per person over the age of 18. And you have to have it, I was there last year and seen the ranger kick a whole group out, trailers quads and all, and thy were fined. I think attitude goes a long way, this group were being belligerent so he booted them.

I was there about 45 years ago. At the entrance there was water about a foot to 18” deep and maybe back into the cave 100”. Then there was an ice waterfall that we had to climb over. The cave goes back a long way. It was fun but exhausting as we climbed up the shale to the entrance. Im glad to see it hasn’t been closed to the public.

Hi Great Vid, We went in also around the '70's and remember a cubby to the left in the main chamber, (tight squeeze) then that opened into a large room with an ice floor. Further on there was a slanted slab to crawl through, then several rooms further to where we were climbing straight up and the wind was strong, I got scared of being stuck, but that air had to go somewhere. Since then there has always been an ice plug in the main room.

If you have a vehicle capable of making it in (and out) of the valley I highly recommend camping down there. There is more deadfall than you could ever burn. It's also more private than the spots up on the cliff side. I did have a somewhat close grizzly encounter my first time out there.

I just started camping here this August, I went 7 times in the past 9 weeks since i got a new truck I like to go right down to the river valley, there is so much deadfall to burn - those trees you show that fell down have an extremely intense burn when they are dry and thrown on the camp fire!. I'm glad I found this.. today is the first weekend I am stuck in my apartment again and am already thinking about when I can get back out there. I think you guys stopped at the bridge near the 2nd information/map box? How deep was that water/What do you drive that stopped you from crossing? Did the road look any better further up from your drone footage, or was there lots of water the whole way?
