Weathering is in many respects an art form and it's so easy to overdo it. I had thought your effort was a little excessive but there are pictures out there that show locos in a similar state! Conversely there are locos awaiting scrapping in a much cleaner condition. You have possibly overdone the use of rust colours and sleeper grime might be a better option for under body work? Hope the visit to the UK is fun and insprational.

Think it looks super! A real grimy worker. Enjoy your time on that island, see you when you come back. And full of ideas of course!

You keep saying you don't know what you're doing but I find that not to be true. I can see from the comment from doubleodave that he is pleased as punch with what you gave him and the weathering. I just couldn't do it. While I appreciate weathering adds to the look of a locomotive for those brave enough to have a go, I take my hat off to you guys.

The footplate on the streamlined version is not diecast, despite Hornby saying that it is. It's plastic. The unstreamlined versions do have the diecast footplate, making them around 420 grams.

Due we have a Fr/liner in green?..??
