I am still going through my decant which performs well. I have an unopened newer bottle, and now am wondering if maybe that version is weaker. Is it possible that less longevity might be due to less fixatives or whatever they use to help with projection?

Ive got it and its nowhere near as good as my old bottle which I have...... now slowed down using. Knew there was something wrong with this new bottle.... Kilian following Tom Ford? Watered down rubbish and performance not even close to my old bottle! Dont buy new look for older bottles.

I've never smelled the OG and didn't know until you posted this review that it's fading away so. I've been doing Lattafa Khamrah from day one for something like US$30 - I didn't hear until later that it was a type of Angels Share - and have noooooooooo problems getting that apple brandy spice, substantivity on strip or skin, diffusion or sillage. Need to watch it if using as a date fragrance, as a matter of fact - spray early and allow for plenty of drydown at home or outside before you see or climb into a car with her. Don't see the point of ever trying AS now - only 3hrs to get down to a skin scent? I'd be happy to send you a Khamrah at Centauri if you'd like it for your next video, just need your info. Peace

The dupes go even harder on the aromachems but they do last longer as a result. Personally, I really like the opening of this one, but I've always been a fan of Oajan so I'm certainly biased. 😄 Thanks for sharing!

Cheers, Peter. I wasn't really a fan of this...a little too heavy on the scratchy aroma chemicals. I wouldn't be surprised if it's been reformulated already.

Meh, this thing smells amazing off a capped atomizer. That apple pie with spice is bang on with that cognac boozy portion. But the dry-down like most modern fragrances, turn into somewhat chemical bitterness (I really wish I knew what chemicals are being used once the aroma chemicals evaporate, all that's left is like the bitterness of a research chemical). If anyone wants to know what I'm talking about, spray a fragrances, wait a few minutes, and then try washing it off.. Whatever is leftover, is that damn chemical bitterness. The hype is really odd. Pretty mainstream "niche" fragrance that somewhat put this sort of DNA on the map (I think Tom Ford's Lost Cherry has the backbone this has, with an obvious cherry addition). To me the big problem as always is - just too synthetic and simply too rough in terms of formulation.

I'll be honest... I liked it when I smelled it but didn't feel like spending so much money. So... I bought the best dupe on the market for 35€. 😅 The longevity is great for the price. And I usually really don't mind going for niche perfumes but I need to be blown away.

This and Oajan by parfums de marly are inspired or clone what ever you want to call it of Hermes Amber nargulie. I have tried them all and non of these are as good as the original Amber Nargulie. Have you tried it yet Peter?

Boy, I need to report something, I bought the original Black Afgano in decant and after a few uses the spray bottle got stuck, I realized that it was stuck and spraying very little, I thought the essence had run out but no, I just bought it, I fixed it pulling it upwards, then the smell started to appear different, with somewhat metallic facets, without so many nuances of coffee, it's as if it presented a smell that hadn't been captured, it may have remained at the bottom of the extract. There are other resins in the outlet. In my ignorance I ended up using the decant as it was a perfume extract for the essential oils to mix. Does anyone know what could have happened?

Very clean collection. I am reducing mine right now as well to fit more unique perfumes. Thank you for introducing me to the salted green mango, that was my first niche perfume :)

It;s nice to see your fragrance side of joy in a "so" limited number of bottles that you have... I wish myself to reach a mental limit of one thousand of bottles, decants and minis, and after that, to filter and get back to around three hundred, maybe even two hundred. I'm currently at 900-910, with maybe some errors in this classification :) But I've been collecting since around 1998, with absolutely no year off this job. so it's time for a change for me too. Respect for your work, dear Peter !

atelier cologne's fragrances tend to be "shampooish", at least the ones on the fresher side.

I once tried ALL Killian fragrances at Harrods when traveling to London and NONE of them lasted or projected off my skin. Disastrous experience 😂 Edit: I remember in one of your videos you saying you added some Sandalwood oil to your Sacred Wood bottle, did it change the performance?

I'm a commercial diver in the gulf of Mexico. I've only dove from an oil rig one time. Mostly I dive from 4 point dive boats or lift boats. Mostly 4 point dive boats. 60% of the jobs are heliox jobs. The other 40% normal air diving. Been at it for 9 years now. Time flies. Boat landings, pipeline work, inspections and measurements and various other types of underwater construction. A lot of pipeline abandonment jobs. I did one Jon where we were lowered down to the water from a cage...we were basically setting diamond saws at 120 ft to cut down the platform and turn it into a reef. Water was crystal clear....it's now a very popular scuba diving spot right near the flower gardens off the Texas coast. Most jobs the visibility is very poor. You learn to work with a "third eye." Be safe out there 😊
