    POW MUSIC, you should make a theory lesson about the albert king box of using standard tuning comparing it to the albert king box using his special tuning F6 because its the same albert king box SHAPE but the SCALE NOTES have been shifted and rearranged because of the special tuning albert king would tune his guitars. If you look there is about 5 different tunings he used which are very unusual tuning but only used the same albert king box SHAPE

    about the strings: it is not only about gauge, but also about scale. I teach, and in my school there is a strat and a gibson sg rip-off, with different scales. With the same string gauge (0.10, ernie ball) I can do bends in the sg much better than the strat. Also, floating bridges tend to work against bendings, they move when you do them and you have to use much more force. Last thing is to have the bridge and nut well polished, to avoid friction.

    • @PowMusic
      @PowMusic Před 2 dny

      thanks...you would think in theory, compensating for scale length with string gauge would make the two even, but I think there's def something to be said about the scale length in general, despite string gauge. All of these guitars had non-floating bridges, stuck to the body, and all the string broke at the fret, not at bridge or nut

    what tuning is jimi in here? I've heard his check before the song and it seems lower than e flat? somewhere in between e flat and d standard is my guess idk? I'm having to shift everything here a half step up clearly when I'm in e flat, but I still think jimi is lower?

    My knowledge of Angus Young's style over the years is that he doesn't know how to read music and so I'd guess (like EVH) he is using modes but doesn't know it....plays by ear - what sounds good!

    • @PowMusic
      @PowMusic Před 4 dny

      You probably know more than me about that, but I'll say that there is no correlation between a guitarist's reading ability, and their understanding of theory, scales, patterns, intervals, etc. Reading is just being able to decode the dots on the staff...many readers actually don't have much theory knowledge or good ears at all...and vice versa...
