Hello, i have a question concerning standard. Maybe you can answer/help me out here. I want to brew a golgari deck and noticed that i have 4 copies of the old assasins trophy , but i noticed no one (?) is playing it? Is it bad? Or is the other black removal good … enough? Or is the land it gifts to good for the opp? Or is it specific ? What would you say, my deck wants to do , so assasins trophy would be good in it?

Man, I love decks that abuse the restricted cards. Realmbreaker Combo with Channel is one of my most played decks, even though it’s far from the best win rate. But I am 18 Rare and 11 Mythic shy of constructing this deck, so I’ll just have to live vicariously through you.

I have a question. you seem very experienced and i am ... newish. i play since 2019 only arena with HUGE breaks in between. I noticed a lot of YT channels that do arena put out almost daily videos (for standard) with titles like "this deck shredds the meta" or "83% winrate" , and then they play a few matches that are clearly cherrypicked, in my opinion. Like ... am i missing something here? When i look at the deck tracker sites, it seems the meta is aggro and discard (B01) , would i not have heard of an azorius control build that supposedly has 83 % winrate? is this just clikcbait bullshit, or am i missing something? Do you have advice or sources that are honest about decks and their strength? i liked mtgazone , they do tier lists in the meta and i it seems pretty correct to an intermediate player like me, maybe you have advice?

It’s amazing how three months later heist is still outrageous. I straight up concede the second I see it played. Mechanic makes it almost impossible to play your own deck. The final straw for me was when in a matter of like three to four turns I had around six cards stollen and half of them played against me.

I think lunar convocation might be a must in alchemy. Standard at least has skrelvs hive and caves of koilos, but here were leaning heavily on zoraline and triumph.

edit: Forgot Ranger-Captain is not legal in Explorer I'm wondering your thoughts on Knight-Errant of Eos and Ranger-Captain of Eos as well. Back when I played Humans I thought Ranger-Captain was amazing, especially against control with the triggered ability. Although its ETB effect also is nice even when you don't have to worry about giant tempo swings and board wipes or other potentially annoying noncreature spells. And Knight just does Knight things, which past Standard Boros Tokens made abundantly clear.

I'm wondering your reasoning if you considered Skyclave Apparition or Fiend Hunter or Werefox Bodyguard instead of Brutal Cathar. Or what you think of them if not. Personally I would still choose Brutal Cathar because it's a Human, and 2 power sounds better than 1 when playing the deck aggressively. But I could see arguments for Skyclave's versatility and 3 toughness surviving more. And Werefox's flash is pretty dang sweet, on top of the versatility of saving one of your own creatures from many types of removal. And all of them have the small added benefit of not having the exile effect turned off during night. Maybe sidedeck options?
