Hey Mac, I’m enjoying the quiz section in the community posts,🎉, I’ve only got 2 correct so far😱, but it’s fun🙆‍♂️.

I love silver but I have to say we are really ripped off in the UK. I have an old receipt from the Royal Mint from Oct 2005 in which TWO bullion Britannia's were bought, inc postage and vat that cost £29.40 so £14.70 for an oz of physical silver back then, the spot price was about £4.88, so basically back then you paid just over three times the spot price to physically own silver. The FTSE 100 was 5160 in 2005 and is about 8204 now so that hasn't doubled, and an average home was 156k in 2005 and is about 280k today so hasn't doubled, but you can definitely say you have doubled your money if you bought physical silver despite the ridiculous premiums back then, of course I'm talking about what you'd expect to get on ebay not the spot price.

Firstly the Royal Mint is more expensive than some other bullion dealers. Yes milk spots can be a put off or an annoyance if you are a collector of different coinage but bear in mind that milk spots on a bullion coin will not alter it's sell value as that is based on weight of silver or gold at or near spot price and not it's condition. ie the melt value. Numismatic coins have a higher value at the moment but when the global financial meltdown occurs shortly then the value will revert to spot price value because the spot prices of both silver and gold will rise so dramatically as to outstrip any perceived numismatic collectors' value in most cases. Nothing wrong with having a small collection of coinage for your own pleasure as you would a stamp collection but personally I collect bullion to cash in on the imminent explosion in the price of gold and silver. Even at the record highs at the present it will seem like a bargain in the near future. Check out Liberty and Finance.com

Right, here is the bottom line....Forget about overly expensive numismatic coins. Only buy Britannia Coins because they are coins of the realm so will have no capital gains tax when you sell. Only buy 1oz coins as they offer the best value for money considering the fact that there will be no numismatic value on these coins when you sell. I am of the opinion that with the coming global financial disaster just around the corner numismatic coins will be treated as weight of silver ounces only. Now, silver is about to explode in value (not imminent but soon enough) so the upfront costs will seem relatively insignificant. Next shop around for prices. The variation in premium pricing is shocking. Lastly, don't take my word for it. Check out Liberty and Finance on CZcams.

Interesting video, l am thinking the little and often as l bought a tube of Britannias, and getting them delivered was a pain! Due to living in a flat so things that can be popped through the letter box is something l need to consider. Little things are to be taken into account. My mentality needs adjusting towards long term and l fight against wanting to flip gold/silver for profit lol

(UK ONLY): If you must…… Buy pre-owned silver from dealers - you only pay VAT on their mark up and not the whole transaction cost. Never forget whether shipping or storage capsules are included (cost reduction opportunities) and look if there are bulk buy discounts. If you’re buying generic bullion with no numismatic value you will likely need to hold it for a long time to recover your money. Silver bullion is not investing (if you want to be an investor buy an ETF 🙂) but an inflation resistant store of wealth. There’s more to it than that; perhaps for another time.

Interesting. I’m in a U.S. State that charges 6% sales tax on numismatics and bullion so I can partially identify, but there are ways to avoid the tax, like buying from another state and having them vault it for you. Private party is another way. I love my Sigma. The Pocket Pinger is a great aid. Right size, right weight, right sound, is as effective as a sigma, but larger sizes are problematic for ping testing.

Buy Au!! And whatever you do, stay AWAY from bullion sellers in the backyard!!

I think it is worth it but I'm picking up in small amounts, I buy a few peices every week just to fill my collection to a point where I don't need anymore, but I will keep buying brittanias and I do only buy from bullion dealers, cool video josh and keep stacking guys 💪

I would recommend Chards at Blackpool, Second hand coins . Just look for their special scheme were you only pay VAT on their premium.

Hey Mac. I have been closely watching your videos recently. It has given me the bug. I think PMs are something i could get into. Even just to hold value. Plus, Au and Ag are just super cool to look at and handle

I need to get some 1 gr bars, always thought their premium are a bit too high, but they do keep those premiums over time. Cool video buddy.

The hard core stacker would say stay away, but as a collector piece, they are very beautiful 😍. Also, some people don’t have the means to buy big, so they are more obtainable.🙆‍♂️ Thanks for your input 👌.
