Acatenango 4K

Volcan Acatenango is a 13,000-foot stratovolcano framing the city of Antigua, Guatemala. This Volcano looks down upon the active Fuego volcano. We climbed to the top of Acatenango with OX expeditions where we watched Fuego erupt multiple times. This was an incredible adventure!!

We volunteered in Guatemala with HELPS International and the Cascade Medical Team

In March of 2023, we spent a couple of weeks in Guatemala with HELPS International and the Cascade medical team. Amanda volunteered as a Stover, installing high-efficiency wood-burning stoves and water filters in the homes of the people of the Quiche region while David provided Anesthesia services in a makeshift hospital on an old military base. From the Phoenix area we head towards Tucson where we hike Picacho peak, visit A mountain park, rollerblade the Santa Cruz River trail, camp at a ridiculous KOA, and relax at some hot springs in Western NM.

After getting settled in Sandia Heights, we take a trip southeast to visit the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, Roswell and Bottomless Lakes State Park, Cloudcroft where we compete in a trail running race, and Whitesands National Park.
New Mexico Part 2

We move up to the ABQ high country and visit the Sandia Ski area and Sandia Crest. Next, we ride the train to Santa Fe and see Meow Wolf. The Los Alamos area is next on the agenda where we explore the Valles Calderas and the Jemez river. After heading back up to Santa Fe Dave does a ride from the top of Ski Santa Fe that drops 6000 feet back to Santa Fe. #sandias #santafe #meowwolf #vallescalderas

Did you rent or buy the lawn chairs?
Our Airbnb came with the chairs. There are places to rent chairs and the Costco in Puerto Vallarta sells them, among other places. I did specifically try and find an airbnb that included chairs so that we didn't have to bother with trying to rent them. Wasn't much more expensive to buy from Costco compared to renting but then you gotta try and sell them somehow or just leave them somewhere.
